Mayo can't play point guard and he's too short to play most two guards. He'd be good as instant offense off the bench, but we already have a similar player in Douglas. Gasol on the other hand would be the perfect fit with his passing ability and feel for the game. But if the Rudy Gay situation was any sort of an indicator, Memphis will probably overpay to keep Gasol. Also, I think AR might be a hard sell because they already have Gay and they're stuck with Zach.

passing and feel for the game doesnt tempt me. i read on other forums gasol is fat/slow. fat/slow doesnt fit the mda system.

What's the likelihood of Randolph and Mayo being moved by the Grizz this season, considering how disappointing the start to their season has been.

Both pretty likely if this continues. Michael Heisley came into the season pretty sure he had a playoff contender on his hands. He just extended Gay and Conley and he can't afford to let Marc Gasol go. And Xavier Henry's played well for them. I think Mayo and Randolph have a better than 50 percent chance of being moved by February.

Still, a second source close to the Knicks said he thought the Mayo acquisition was unlikely.

“I don’t think we’re gonna get him,” the second source said. “We’re playing so good, you really don’t want to mess with it. You don’t want to tinker with it too much.”

OJ Mayo is the type of guy D'Antoni seems to succeed with. Those players being guys who dont need to be coached.

if Roberson's not available i guess we can always consult Jonathan Bender, eh?

but all kidding aside, i think Mayo would make a nice fit on this team off the bench as a 6th or 7th man scorer to help spark the 2nd unit
