This is what it is, and he's putting up baller numbers. If I'm going to one college and you come along and tell me that, 'well, if you were going to this other college, you would be a wack student' but what does that have to do with what I'm doing now, man? If you come along and tell me 'well, there are tons of people that are homeless', yea but I'm not homeless, I have my own set of problems relative to the circumstances of my present situation. I'm not homeless, Felton isn't homeless; Felton is a baller.

And really, you know, then you can say well this system is this and this one is that, Coach Mike is wack, but that's a different question. And really, the Knicks are 11-9 and over the last 10 they're the #1 team in the league. So this is valid, it's more than valid, it's a winning team, what's the deal. Felton is balling on a winning team, what's up, man?

wow...haven't seen this name in a while...I had you ignored so I had to do an extra click just to read your post....not bad

1st of all, no one was thinking Felton was this good before he came here. 2nd Mike has been teaching him to play the game in the same way that he taught Nash. It makes the PG better than they were before. Yes they had the talent, but you can't ignore the fact that Mike found the perfect role for Felton. He made adjustments in what he asked Felton to do and he's thriving now. Felton couldn't make a basic PnR work and now he's got it. You have to add that to the list of things Felton would thank Mike for. I really get tired of this lack of appreciation for what Mike brings to the table.

This team is one of the best offensive teams in the league despite not having a perfect roster. This team is young and inexperienced but they can play. The SSOL offense is working and the Hornets game proved it. The Hornets are one of the top defensive teams this year. They only allow opponents to score 91 pts a game. They couldn't stop us and we scored 100 and could've scored more. Felton is and was a good player before he got here, just like Nash was, but like Nash, playing for Mike is a huge benefit. Before Mike, there was no talk of MVP for Nash. Just give the Man his credit. He helps PG's to be better than they were.

You guys gotta be pulling my chain on the backup situation. TD had 4 assists pressured Paul and he had a scoreless stretch with Toney on him. He tried to take TD to the rack to end the third and it was not happening. When TD and Williams came in instead of Walker and we pulled away ion the third and fourth is when the game was won. It was won during that stretch with defense and Williams size and help defense contributed. As did Toney.

Toney's defense was really on point. Felton was playing lockdown defense almost the whole game but he had a few mistakes at the end which RARELY happens. When Toney plays straight up and doesn't rely on help he's a GREAT defender. It's when he starts gambling and forcing his man toward the help too early and often that he gets in trouble. He gets exposed more on the baseline than anywhere else. Offensively, Toney makes too many mistakes. He doesn't run the offense well, he doesn't take control of it like a point guard should. He plays like a shooting guard.

The only thing you can say about the numbers is that they are slightly inflated. I hate it when people say "empty numbers" or "meaningless points".
Like with David Lee. he asserted himself early in games knocking down jumpers that he created himself. It wasn't in garbage time thaty he put up stats. I don't know how many more possessions the Knicks have then the average team but I figure it's not a ton more. So go ahead and knock off 2 or 3 points per game and an assist from Felton. And maybe 3 or 4 points and a rebound from Amare. And that's probably too much. But either way, they are ballin.

Yes, gotta agree to some of this. For all the criticism MDA gets on this board, no one recognizes (or wants to?) the good things he brings to the team. People here would have given a arm and a leg for Avery Johnson to be coach instead of MDA and we repeatedly sliced through the Nets defense while playing pretty good defense on our end. People buy in to these stereotypes way too much and go completely overboard.
