![]() It's not the same, but Pat Riley coming back to MSG after he left for the Heat was pretty good. I was at that game...I think I was 14 or 15. Crowd was ALL over him. He even came out to center court and blew kisses as he was announced, which fired everyone up even more.

![]() Maybe Roger Clemens at Shea after the Piazza incident.
On second thought, nah... this will be the worst ever. I hope Lebron takes it like a man and doesn't cry too much. I'm glad there is no Knicks game tonight, b/c I am really psyched to see him get his comeuppance. Mofo sort of deserves it for that ESPN debacle "The Choice". |

![]() I think just because this is a different era, even from 2007 when Vince left the Raptors... I mean, people tweet, the media is a constant pressence in everyone's life now... I think that has lead to more vitriol than ever...
Also, there's the question of unfulfilled expectations. By the time Vince left the Raptors, he wasn't even taking them to the playoffs anymore, same with Roger Clemens and the Red Sox. Lebron was supposed to win at least one championship for Cleveland. A championship that would have been their first in professional sports in what 50 years?! Throw in the pompous arrogance of his hour long television debacle, the Decision... I think all that combines to make Lebron the most hated professional athlete ever, at least by the city of Cleveland. I think he's going to get BOOED tonight. i hope it's relentless and he bursts into tears like a little baby. i hope. and i hope Cleveland keeps it to just booing and no one does anything stupid. ¿ △ ?

I think that has lead to more vitriol than ever...yea man me too... I generally dont like seeing people shat on, but guys like this need a wakeup call to the world they live in. The reason he's a star, has that lifestyle and the reason he makes gazillions of dollars are the people that are in the that stadium. Guys like Eddie House can play in the NBA for 10 years, make a couple mill a year, go from city to city just be a player. Lebron wants the stardom, the fame, the power, the money, the attention, the brand... he wants to be the king. Well, now he gets to see what happens when the King ****s on his subjects. I dont want anything bad to happen. I hope nothing gets thrown. I hope nobody get ejected. I do hope that for 48 minuteds of BB or 2 1/2 hours of real time that he hears it from warm ups till he walks out through the tunnel. I hope het get emotional and I hope it does bother him and he freakin cries. As much as I was hoping he would be a Knick watching the decision sickened me, and I very quickly started hoping he would just stick with Cle. Status quo, we swung and missed, life goes on. Watching those cle fans in bars, etc during that special... man that sucked "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

I've never had a problem with him leaving Cleveland. It's his life and he should be able to do what he wants with it. That being said, the way he went about it was disrespectful and cruel to the fans. He deserves the abuse(non violent) that he receives tonight. AS you said, you just do not shiot on the people that pay your salary I just hope that people will like me

I mean its free country, and if Lebron told Cle he was going to leave and had a face to face chat with Gilbert and said I want to leave for reasons x,y and z Gilbert would have no choice but respect him as a man. He could be pissed, fans would be pissed but at least he was standup about it. What the most nauseating is he couldnt just say I'm going to play for the heat. I'm taking my talents to south beach? You know he rehearsed that crap over and over and thats what he came up with? pathetic "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

I have enjoyed every minute of my time playing here in Cleveland and I truly appreciate the priveledge to play in front of the world's greatest fans. It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that I will be leaving Cleveland to pursue my goals in Miami. It was not an easy decision for me. I agonized over this decision for months. But in the end I feel that it was the best move for me and my family. Although I do not regret this decision, I do regret that I was not able to deliver a championship to Cleveland as we all had hoped(tears)......I want to once again thank Mr. Gilbert(because we already spoke about this well before this press conference) for being a fantastic owner, that provided our team with top notch facilities and went out of his way to help us build a winning team. I have no doubt that Mr. Gilbert will be able to quickly build a winner here in Cleveland after I am gone. Once again, thank you fans(tears rolling down cheeks) for all that you have done for me. If I could, I would make love to each and every one of you. But I can't. So I wont.............." Or something like that. How hard would that have been. Some would have still hated him, but............ I just hope that people will like me

Another example might be Clay after he returned to boxing in the states after he dodged the draft. Nah. It was an unpopular war. Even Brooks Robinson had some fans on his side when he was first into the majors. Whatever ...'fan' is short for 'fanatic' right? let's just get this behind us and nobody gets hurt I'll be happy. He chose this path knowing this day would come. Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans

You don't get any more vilified than being cut by your team when your its leading scorer. the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt
