#3 Jason Terry: His +/- numbers are insane. Watch even a small sample of Mavs games and they are one of the deepest and most talented teams in the league, yet I would say Terry hits more important shots than anyone on that team

#2 Rondo. Most people know he's great but originally overshadowed but Boston's "big 3" Rondo is quietly the best player on that team and a top 3-4 PG in the league for sure

#1 Roy Hibert: This guy is a star. Just nobody knows it yet.

Good point on Hibbert Fish, he's really coming into his own. Had a great game last night (24/12/6 assts) helping his Pacers pull out a very improbable win at the Lakers. Dude's averaging 16/10 & over 2 blocks a game so far this season.

I think Serge Ibaka is another big who's pretty underrated. Really starting to show signs of a complete game...He played well last year for Ok. City, hustling and playing good athletic defense but now his offensive game is really starting to turn the corner. He looked real good early on last night in a loss at Houston going 7 for 7 from the floor and he was doing it from all over, including from mid-range where he looked very comfortable shooting the ball. Stopped shooting after awhile as their big guns tried to take over the game nearly pulling out a victory (only played 22 mins too, splitting mins with Nick Collison---he should be playing more, he's better than Collison). Averaging 11/7/2 blks/60% FG/80% FT in about 27 mins a game. We've been talking about getting another big to go along with STAT & Ronny -- imagine if it was this guy? We'd be in good shape. This guy's only gonna get better -- so good that the Thunder might not be able to keep him eventually.

I cant hammer home Hibbert enough. This is a product of hard work. He was NOT a heralded prospect (picked after 15). He's a big man who was dedicated to working hard and improving. We all know Mosgov is a gym rat and works very hard. He's got a nice jumper, excellent athlete and decent BB IQ.

I dont really get the sense of suddent urgency by fans around here to start selling off prospects for low ceiling role players who might add a couple wins right now. Because Amare is 28?

To me Amare being 28 and the Knicks being .500 doesnt justify quitting on my player development.

2 years ago he was first rounder in the teens who couldnt stay in the game and was a total stiff w/ 3 fouls per 15 minutes. I wonder if 20 games into that first season Pacer fans wanted him traded for a low ceiling role player.

We must be patient and develop our players. Thats how we will be a good team, not by trading them for someone.

I see us as having 2 simple goals right now:
1) playing good BB. If that means shortening the rotation (it has) then fine. It seems we are doing OK there. We have won 6 of 7 and are playing good. We have our lapses but the effort is good and there is some chemistry developing there.

2) improving our players. We have a nice combo of forward in Fields, Gallo, Chandler. They are far from finished products. Equally important are Mosgov and Randolph. Neither are quite ready to really help in the rotation but we still need to get them in there and getting better.

Both Lopez and Harris of NJ are extremely overrated, as is Bosh currently.

Overrated how? Harris was fantastic 2 years ago. Hurt last year. Playing good again this year. Lopez doesn't need explanation. He draws double and triple teams offensively and is a beastly low post defender.

You say all that, yet the team sucks. Harris should have never made the all-star team that one year. They were a .500 win team or less with Carter still somewhere in his prime. He was the only deserving all-star. Harris is a good role player on a good team like he was in Dallas. But him leading the way doesn't produce wins. And Lopez puts up numbers, but so far in his career they have proven to be very empty numbers, similar to what we have experienced in Randolph and Curry in the past. The only thing that makes Lopez a little better is his defense. I base overrated players as players who stand out for various reasons, but don't lead to wins.

underrated by who? They have all won titles, play on elite teams, make a boatload of money and are recognized as stars in their respective cities.

Every casual NBA fan knows those guys are great

Yeah all 3 have been recognized in this league for a long time as all-stars and top contributers to championship teams. Not sure how that classifies them as underrated.

Raymond Felton
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Landry Fields was named the Eastern Conference's Rookie of the Month for November. Nothing personal against Fields, but either the people who give out these awards were penalizing John Wall for missing some games due to injury, or they simply haven't been watching as many Knicks games as they should.

john wall has the best p.r. machine since lebron first entered the nba. name constantly pops up. congrats john wall has great stats on a losing team, yeepee. its not like the wizards are a team of scrubs.

fields has great play on a winning team, contributing to the stat i care most, wins.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned him yet but Ronny Turiaf definitely comes to mind -- there are things he doesn't do so well (he really should be a better rebounder--it's not even an effort thing--the effort's always there with Ronny, but even Amar'e same thing, both guys just have some trouble securing rebounds for some reason) but there are a ton of things he does really well -- great post defender, obviously an above average shot-blocker, tremendous passer for a big and I think he's actually a very capable offensive player when called upon, which isn't that often (he's never been a top offensive option for any team he's ever played for...doesn't mean he can't score the ball though)..And he's a great teammate and locker room presence which is a very underrated trait in itself (esp here in NY where we've had quite a few clowns & primadonnas poison our locker room the past few years)..May not be a top 3 underrated guy in the entire league but he's definitely in the discussion..A great all-around guy to have on your team and take into battle. I knew he was gonna be good for us..

Joakim is not underrated, he's almost overrated if you ask me, the bulls refuse to included him in any package for melo, or anyone not name wade or bron.

He's been mention quite a bit, clearly he's having a career year. I think most of us predicted he would do that in this system, as a matter of fact, he started the season avg roughly the same #s as last season, and most started to put together all sorts of trading packacegs.

He's putting the pg issue to a rest at this point.
