.500 is about what most expected.

We are beating the teams we are suppose to beat and doing it on the road.

Good teams are beating us. Its also ok to be beaten but not "Beat yourselves".

No, Moz is not a complete player. No, Gallo is not fully consistant. No, Felton is not an allstar.

But the last 10 games are much different and the team is coming together.

.500 and make playoffs is a successful season by our measure.

We have max room for one more player next year.

Things are better. For now, thats big. Really big.

They have not done anything yet so "Warrior Sprit" badge is premature.

BUt if your into the team and enjoying the season then call it what ever you want!!! What harm does it do!

"Most of us predicted this record.."

Stop right there bucko. No one, NO ONE predicted a six game losing streak, followed by a five game winning streak.

what Nalod said. Never was any harm in standing and cheering.

scary to think what's gonna be said about this team if we're 5 games over .500... '96 Bulls eat yer hearts out!
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Felton's becoming my second favorite Knick after Fields. Absolute iron man and warrior. Wouldn't trade him for any PG not named Deron Williams or Chris Paul (and both of those options seem extremely remote -- I would even wager both get locked up in another extension next year). If he could actually get down the PnR with Amare, I might even prefer him over Deron.

Amare has been 10x better at noticing the double and triple teams and kicking it back out. He still has a few dumb turnovers, but I have no problems when Amare goes 1-on-1 iso because he does a fantastic job getting to the line or getting the bucket. The only thing I wish he added was a catch-and-shoot jumper. If the pick and roll isn't working, we could at least run some pick and pops like we did with Kurt Thomas/Doleac. We know Amare has that elbow jumper in his repertoire.

I can't get too high on this team- I like Fields, Feltons and Amar'es attitude, but Chandler, Gallo and TD are too inconsistant, and Mosgov and AR are behind where I'd hope they'd be. I worry about how we're going to fair during that killer dec/jan stretch- our defense and offense are way too up and down for my liking. I like that the teams fitness levels are high- back to backs don't seem to phaze them, where as the last few years we've had teams that could hardly play on the second night.

Also we need a back up PG and a back up PF/C in the worst way, and a shooter off the bench. Maybe Shawne Williams can be the latter, but we wont be able to maintain or improve on our record without addressing our bench.

It may be premature but this team really does show a fighting spirit that has been absent for a long time.

Maybe it is just Amare really giving me flashbacks of LJ's leadership. Maybe it is Felton leading this team on the floor the way Harper used to. Maybe it is I am just excited for a team with accountability, with guys saying to the team "Get in line behind us. We are bringing you where you need to be.

No Felton is not an All star yet, but I personally value his leadership and tenacity and heart way more then an All Star appearance. I'd rather be a winner then an All Star on the Clips.

Once again this wasn't based on record this is a team you can see fighting for and with each other. You can see Amare relishes this leadership role. You can see team wide desire. You can see an expectation to win we didn't have before.

I'm not worried about wins. If this team stays the current course, those will come. This is about an attitude, the personality this team is developing.

~You can't run from who you are.~

good reads. just to add, put me in the category of i did not predict the knicks would be at or above .500

so this season is christmas for me. it began with walsh, he is moses, showed the knicks to the promised land. the old man made sure his successes outwieghted his mistakes. he played tight poker, but when it came time to go all in (stat) he did.

as much as the knicks need a healthy stat we need a healthy walsh. dolan give him the best healthcare your money can buy!

Were not even the biggest story in the east, the pacers (just beat the lakers at home) are clearly the cinderlla story so far.

We only beat 1 team above 500(GSW) and we play like crackheads at home..It's good to win road games, but yoy start to get your kudos when you dominate at home, not losing to under 500 teams.

They say our schedule gets tough after Dec 12th, well to me, those are the games that detemines how far we have come, beating good teams at home and perhaps stealing a few on the road, thats something to get excited and pump about.

Miami is having team meetings ( to talk about how they just don't complement each other..idiots)and were clapping like seals over a .500 record.

It has just been a long time since Knicks fan had something to be happy about. Let's enjoy the ride, it's only the start of a long journey :)

Only two blowout losses in 20 games? Above .500? Not collapsing during the last 3-4 minutes of the 4th quarter? Felton swishing and dishing? The Mayor hitting big threes late in the game? Gallo playing defense? Anybody playing defense?

Compared to what's been served up the last 3-4 years, you better believe clapping like seals is a coherent response!

good post, joe. i agree - this is my favorite knicks team since the '99-'01 edition with Spree, Houston, Camby and LJ. we need that one more piece (Melo) to be as good as that team, but i think we can get it if we're patient.
