The Knicks could have had all three of these guys. They didn't have to choose between them.

do you expect the GM to always draft the best player? To never make a choice that can come back and bite you?

It was just as plausable that Hill makes basketball #1, shows up in shape and has an impact rookie year, meanwhile Jennings weighing 158 lbs, averaging 4ppg in Europe and calling the Knicks racial slurs on youtube isnt an NBA player.

If you want to focus on specific moves there isnt a single GM you cant take apart in this league.

Nope. I just don't get the comparison to Jennings. Knicks could have had all three players.

and not for nothing, but Felton is a better player than Jennings. Lets see Jennings shoot over 40% and play some defense.

If you are going that route something to consider, could Walsh have made the Jeffries trade with Jennings and not given up the pick? Would the Knicks franchise have been more marketable with Jennings here last summer. Its all ifs and buts but my initial response was to comparing Jennings to Douglas, Fields. All three guys could and probably should be Knicks.

I dont watch the Bucks but all I know is is that whole entire team is shooting 40% except for the likes of Bogut and Boykins. And word is that their offense sucks.

Could be coaching, could be chemistry, could be their PG.

Second, you may not even get Amare (low prob there though).
Third, you either can't do the Lee trade (Turiaf) or you can't sign Felton.
Fourth, you can't sign Moz if one of the 2 in the third part happens.

Fifth, you have full ownership of your next two 1st round picks to include in a possible trade for Carmelo Anthony.

same question to you that I posed to crush that he avoided answering: would you have done the trade? And if not, what is your plan with Hill, Jefferies in tow after you sign Amare?

i already told u i don't think we should have made that trade... i think we should have waited out the process & considered our options on Draft night... plenty of teams were able to dump contracts by unloading way less than what we had to give up... i think Donnie jumped the gun way early... at the very worst, we have Hill, ownership of our next 2 1st round picks & an expiring contract in Fishlips to use in a future deal... i think that gives u pieces to work deals with that will net you more than just a salary dumping maneuver.

after the draft no one takes on Jefferies. SO mostly your team goes into this year without a PG or without Turiaf and prob no Moz.

how do u make that assumption? so teams will want to clear salary to go after the FA's in 2010 but no one will want to look to clear salary for the Melo or Parker in 2011? & how do u know what happens w/that D Lee trade, maybe it gets expanded using some of those pieces we used to clear Fishlips' contract off the books to get a much better player than Ray Felton? & who cares about Moz? dude doesn't even look like he's ready to start games yet.

That trade argument is so dead it's not even funny. The moves worked out great for this team and we have a squad that is taking shape even without Melo. We will have cap room to add a guy next year and I can't really say that we're missing out just cuz we haven't done the Melo deal yet. Let's see how things play out. This team is steadily improving and we've got tons of room for growth from within. This team is more of a Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons type of team. Not overloaded at the top with superstars, but a lot of really good parts that fit great together.

SMH. If they swapped places Milwaukee would be headed straight to the lottery.

Jennings is a better PG than Felton.

if we play at a .467 clip this season i don't think there's any way we'll be making the playoffs this year

We also needed time to gel..... With a 6 game losing streak early I say .467 clip is not a true
indicator of how good we are....

Last year .467 teams in east did make playoffs!

i expect .500 at the very least out of this bunch so hopefully expectations are met & we do make the playoffs... this year is not last year, the East is much improved, so i'm not banking on making the playoffs with a .467 win percentage... hopefully the latest trend of improved play continues for more than just sporadic runs over the course of the year... i've seen this team play good basketball before under MDA only to fall back into the same old bad habits & poor play... it's going to take a lot more than just a 15 game run to give me confidence that this team has finally turned things around.

The Knicks schedule has not been bad so far. They got a big break with that Orlando game getting canceled.

Knicks are actually 7th while Indiana is 5th.

Standings now are pretty irrelevant.
