I'm talking for this season only, so I'm only listing coaches who could fill in as interim head coach.

This strikes out a lot of the assistant coaches people clamor for (cause I highly doubt their team will allow an interview mid-season) like Lawrence Frank, Brian Shaw, or Bill Laimbeer.

Also didn't include coaches who I feel are just too much of a longshot, cause of past bad blood or retirement (ie. JVG, Hubie Brown)

Mark Jackson
Patrick Ewing

I have a weird feeling of déjà vu about this whole discussion.

you know what's doubly funny about this... Gene Hackman's team lost early and often in Hoosiers. And all the townspeople wanted him fired cause of the loses. The offense was AWFUL.

And it directly parallels what is happening in NY.

Maybe the most reasonable, and least popular, would be to promote Phil Weber. Its highly unlikely they get Mark, Patrick or anybody else just to be an interim coach.

it's down to hackman and goldberg.

bip was considered but he's just too unstable a personality.

I don't know... we'll lose something from the press conference with gone. Samuel L Jackson has to be conisdered as a darkhorse candidate

as for bip, his post count isn't high enough to warrant serious consideration

SMH who is this "bip" character you guys keep talking about

Well isn't Larry Johnson around to help?

Yeah, but Gene Hackman turned things around in one season.

I think Jerome James should replace Herb Williams as our assistant coach for the next decade.

John Calipari He certainly has professional experience from what I can tell and should soon be available once the graduation rates are enforced

Cal might be a good choice if he is willing to go pro. I liked him as the Nets coach and thought the strike, and trading and letting go of some of his locker room guys caused his demise there.

Coach K, but he would puke at the thought of working for Dolan instead of enjoying the god like status he has now. This is true for most good coaches so we wont get any and I don't want Mark Jackson.
