He is the star of the team, the alpha dog. He is not only the best player on the team but he is the leader and the driving force because the coach is not that kind of person. He has had to take on a Messier type role and he has done it. It isn't fair to him and he is right to speak up about the lack of effort and apparent apathy that the franchise has.
i don't think there was anything wrong w/what he said either, but he's also a part of the problem right now... i can see him trying his best but he's also forcing up shots & committing bad turnovers this year... a big part of that is our PG's inability to get him the ball in space, but that doesn't excuse the mistakes he's making on the court either... his shooting % is way below his career average this season & part of the reason is that he's out shooting 3's & forcing up shots into double teams... as captain of the team i love the fact that he's speaking up, but i didn't hear much accountability in his words for his own mistakes this season... there is an obvious lack of chemistry between him & Ray Felton, & that is an issue that both those guys need to get to work on before they expect anyone else to step up their games... accountability starts with the guy you see in the mirror.
if you look at the way this team plays has a whole and not just individully, the problems are not as bad as one may think. I lot times were point the fingure to gallo, amre, Felt, WC. But what i'm seeing is a lot of selfish play overall.
exmaple: to many times this season, I have seen Td, Felton, and gallo, lead a 3 on 2 break, only to never pass the ball to either wing mans, guy are either to close to each other, or thinking of themselves. All in all guys are not playing hard and smart for 48 minute's.
Felt may not be a MVP type pg for this system, and it's only 10 games into a system that isn't exacly tailor made for him, but he should be adequate enough to lead this team to at least 45 wins.
