Don't you guys want to see Defense be played?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

It's a pretty big call to commit $44 M over the next 4 years to Monta Ellis when you had a lot of guys coming up as FAs.

Def. not a no brainer...

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

GSW traded FOR David Lee. They weren't trying to rebuild - they decided to add another young talented veteran and make a playoffs run.

Curry and Ellis are somewhat similar players. The two of them in the same back court isn't a long term solution. Curry does the same thing but is a better shooter and better distributor and is cheaper. David Lee is also the first All Star the Warriors in a decade+ so, yes, I think it is within the realm of reason they would've traded small for big

they're not really that similar. ellis drives at the rim like a maniac. everything he creates comes out of his drives. he's kind of like old school marbury or iverson in that way.

curry is a shooter and a more traditional playmaker.

they both need the ball in their hands, but they aren't really that similar, i don't think.

i mean, monta ellis would have been FUN here... but would it make us a good team? i kind of doubt it.

Yes. And we don't need a smurf SG. We got one in TD who actually plays good defense.

I watched the GSW/MEM game last night, and I came away coveting Rudy Gay more than Monta Ellis.

I think Gay is only a half-step behind Melo and Durant at the SF position at this point...

he had a monster game. Wait till he goes 7-20 missing that fade back jumper over and over again. Rudy is very hot cold. Ironicaly I just touted Walsh for getting Felton for 3 years $21mm when Memphis overpaid for Conley 5 years $40mm when Felton is the better player but Conley has looked really impressive

ironically, Melo went about 7-20 last night... they are both scorers and sometimes they're going to take a lot of shots that don't go down. so is Monta Ellis. that's just the way it goes for guys who create from the perimeter. heck, Steve Nash went 7-21 last night. Durant went 6-24 last night. it happens.

i think we all agree that the knicks NEED, desperately NEED, a player who can create his own shot from the perimeter to compliment Amar'e. Wilson is GOOD, but he does not create his own shot - he gets his points in the flow of the game, which is valuable.

I think Rudy has a lot of Carmelo in his game and is a better shooter and a better defender than Melo. He's probably not quite the go-to scorer that Melo is, but I think he's VERY close.

I think we could have gotten Gay pretty easily. then again, maybe Memphis was hell bent on matching. I think they maxed him out... either way, I think Gay is going to put himself in the conversation with Melo this year... not Durant...
