The problem is--how do you execute plan B when on surface it sounds like plan A is to get Caremlo by the deadline--if you do that--how can you engage in a different deal--unless they have something in place and pulled off at the last hour. Frankly the season is out of reach at that point for many teams.

Hopefully that doesn't matter. We have bodies, some of which are young, and others have expiring contracts. Hopefully that's all that matters when their backs are against the wall.

Just because a player isn't known doesn't mean he's a role player. By role player I'm guessing you mean someone with 'average' skill. Ask Houston - Kyle Lowry, Aaron Brooks, Luis Scola, players who were under the radar but are great great players. These players were probably regarded as role players but for whatever reason, Houston thought differently and guess what, they have great players on reasonable contracts and without needing high draft picks.

The upper echelon teams have superior scouting and have superior D-league development. If we hope to get there that's the way we need to build this team, not by starphuching. We've tried starphuching under Isaiah and clearly it doesn't work.

Rose is not the answer.

I consider them very strong role player, but not great players. Houston as a team and its players are beginning to become overrated because they are earning unwarranted respect. People are talking about them as a high playoff team, and they aren't. I don't think they will make the playoffs.

Players shake loose all the time. Iggy in Philly can be had, Monta Ellis will be avaliable at some point.

No, not first tier stars but there are times when the right set of players witht he right coach can create a larger sum.

I like our players, I like our flex. We have assets and opportunities.

We don't know much about Melo and how this is playing out.

If He is only going to make "X" amount and its not going to be Denver than all things being equal he has demonstrated only one place he wants to play and he can do it without us giving up assets that could be used for play or trade.

Thats my take.

If Denver wants somthing they can have Wilson as we likley won't resign him if Melo is on the team. They get Eddy, three mill to pay the rest of his contract and Wilson. Or Nothing.

If Melo does not figure in the Knicks future, we have cap room and players that could equate to trades for players teams might want to shed.

Donnie is patient and has a plan.

We just are not privy to it.
