Earl: one day you'll figure out that Berman is a horrible writer and stop reading his nonsense. Just because he writes for the post doesn't mean he's talented. I actually read his preview for this season, its seriously one of the worst, most childish previews I've seen in a while. Not sure why I expected better. He's simply a bad writer that survives on speculation, innuendo, unnamed sources, straight up guessing and some lying, all to stir the pot. Very little basketball insight or knowledge actually comes from the guy

Berman isn't worthy to post on this forum, let alone in the Post.

Bippity - one day you'll figure out that Berman is simply a court jester and he makes me laugh.

Matching up against Paul Pierce will be an education

You won't admit it, but he clearly gets to you. Your well written 5 page letter to him verifies it. You may deny that he does, but he does.

Landry Fields has the knack. reminds me a bit of Pierce.

But ..he is at this point an unproven second round pick. And of little value in such a trade...yet.

Until the Knicks can show that the pieces they have are real there will be little interest. As the
season progresses that may change of course. Sad to say, if they play well; Denver will have all
the more interest in what the Knicks have. Same with the Nets. By the deadline look for the Melo
thing to be resolved.

Danilo Gallinari and Anthony Randolph would go before Landry Fields if it were up to me. I think Fields is going to become a VERY good player. Not a Star but one of those glue role players that make all the key plays for winning teams at both ends. Kind of like James Posey, Robert Horry, ect.

And if that happens, and we keep Landry instead, it will be in part because Landry was good enough that Walsh was comfortable letting Chandler go. Either player could be trade bait. And they should both take it as a good thing. Meaning they are wanted by other teams.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Wilson will be traded because of his contract situation... this team isn't gonna pony up to extend him when we have a player in Fields making rookie scale money.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Chandler and Fields have both been very impressive. Chandler is living up to Clyde's prediction that he could develop into a 20 point scorer.

Its gotta be the beard! Chandler played with more attitude than I've ever seen him. Maybe getting benched in favor of a rook flicked a switch.

Really love Fields and what he does for the rotation. With Fields playing so well it makes our bench so much better. Chan can come in and play with confidence.

We've got a decent part of the rotation working, but Gallo, Mason and Walker kind of bother me right now. Gallo just had one of those games. The early fouls messed him up IMO. He has to find something simple that he can do to be effective until his shot comes back. He made a real nice drive and a post up, so I think he needs to keep going to that. Mason just looks like a waste of minutes and I don't think he's gonna last for long if he keeps playing like this. Heck i'd rather see Rautins.

I agree about Mason, Gallo and Walker. I am really concerned about Gallo because I think the expectation is that he is going to be the second or third best player on the team and he is far from that right now. Walker and Mason have looked like end of the bench/practice players so far. While it has only been the preseason and two games, both guys look very expendable if the Knicks had the opportunity to pick up talent that could help the team. Walker's Summer league performance was pretty bad as well.

Papabear Says

When the trade deadline comes Denver will have to deal with us or let Melo go as a loaner for the rest of the season and we will still get him. If we want to win a champion ship we need to hold on to our young talent. Fields look real good out there. Now could it be that other teams are not paying attention to him? Only time will tell.

Landry Fields had 10 rebounds against the vaunted Celtics frontckurt

that provides more evidence that he realizes what needs to be done, has the skill set to activate a component of his game and just does it.

That is the definition of "having a coach on the floor"
