If Amare is a LEGIT MVP--I mean legit--than the odds of the Knicks winning 50+ games is astronomically high.

Now I have concerns that the Knicks are so fixated on trading for Carmelo that they can lose focus on today. if there are moves out there TODAY to help improve the team--to give our superstar player and the team/fans a legit chance to not only win but win big--than they cant lose focus of that. If there is a team that starts off horribly and offers an excellent player who has multi years on max contract--than we cant hold off for FA if the caliber is GOOD enough to give us a chance to win big in the playoffs.

From past predictions, definitely gotta go with 39-43. Good enough for an 8th seed.

AR and Gallo are just not showing as much promise and growth as we had hoped they would have during the offseason.

And yes, you can say all I have to go off of that are a couple meaningless pre-season games but then this wouldn't be a full season prediction then would it?

There are some weak teams that don't have an All Star with the impact of Amar'e and those are the teams we have to beat. I think there will be enough weak teams and teams that are similar to us for this team to be over .500. It's been so long since we've had a true All Star level player that can will his team to wins at times, that we don't realize how much of a difference that can make. Amar'e seems to have reached a new level in his career. 2nd half of last year he was a different player. I think we can ride him like PHX did and pull out some games we would lose last year.

I don't expect the team to look as bad as it did in the preseason. As they are right now I think they should go 46-36.

depends on when/if melo arrives but for now will say 42.5One game will be tied because of the riot when the former GM/coach and probably still Dolan lover shows up courtside.

Every season without fail, I'm much too optimistic about the Knicks and I overshoot my wins prediction. This year I'm going to curb my enthusiasm and try to be a little more realistic.

Before training camp I figured just under .500 with around 39 wins. After watching some of the preseason, it's obvious that I was just drinking the Kool Aid.

33-49 with the 7th spot in the lottery, that Houston will be happy to have courtesy of Donnie Walsh.

45 wins. Could be more if they start well. There was a half in pre-season
that the Knicks clicked for 65.

35 wins, no playoffs.

I would love to be wrong but we are going to have some serious growing pains this year. I am excited though - I like our team, but it's far from complete.

i'm sticking with 45 wins. amare is going to be a rock this year. and i think felton and gallo and toney will be very good while mozgov, fields, chandler, turiaf and AR will be solid role players.

we can protect the rim like we haven't been able to in years, we can score like we haven't been able to in years and defend the perimeter, too. rebounding will be an issue, but i think the good outweighs the bad.

big wildcards: AR and Azubuike and maybe Mozgov. those guys can really help us if they blossom.
