lebron is still loved by all who aren't hardcore/loyal fans of the "old school" sentimentality of sports and/or some nba team burnt by him...and that's a LOT of fans...i'd guess, it's most.

call him ledouche, lecon, whatever...when the heat win titles be ready to hate (sorry, i mean envy) him (and the heat/heat fans) more than we did when jordan was whoopin our azzes knick fans.

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

The whole point is that no, that would be nothing like losing to Jordan. It would be like losing to the Celtics, the new NBA trend.

Good ad. I agree that there will always be an asterisk if he wins. The Heat are by no means a lock... they are very vulnerable if any one of the big 3 go down. It's a very long season, anything can happen. They are pretty weak up front... they have an undrafted Canadian National team player (Joel Anthony), undersized power forward (Udonis Haslem), and not much else. I think the Magic/Celtics would actually cause them lots of problems. Those are big teams.
Rose is not the answer.

Papabear Says

Let's say Scottie Pippen and Jordan beat us. However I remember that time when Jordan and Pippen was all over Smiths back and arms and the officials were afraid to call a foul. We always took Jordans team to game 7. I beleive not matter what, as long as the three Omiegos are together in Miami and they win a Championship there will always be an asterik next to that team. LeCon and Bosh knew they were going to Miami all the while and as I said before LeCon played us and the public. With that nike add it shows that LeCon didn't learn a thing about what he did wrong. When Shaq left Orlando and went to the Lakers it was done no fanfare. LeCon made a spectical out of leaving. Like I said if he came to New York or any other team without any fanfare only Cleveland would have been hurt. But they would understand that he was a free agent and he wanted to move on. But no! he had all those teams coming to Dayton and getting on their knees begging him to play for them and he already had his mind made up. THAT'S THE SCAM HE PUT ON EVERYONE AND HIS REPUTATION WILL ALWAYS BE TARNISHED. He is a great player but I'll tell you one thing, he better watch Wade with his Mom! Wade likes to play the field and you know how LeCon's Mom likes to ball.I can see Wade knocking that down.

At this time the Heat are not our rivals.

When we are relevant in the playoffs then it becimes a rivalry.

What do I want from Lebron?

How about the humility of a champion if your going to act like one!

Parading around like a god without conquest is empty.

Jordan was never as arrogant off the court as Lebron.

What do I want from "You"? Play ball and amaze us on the court.

Sorry you are hurt by all the negative vibes but since you (lebron) accepted hero worship and let your fans down then what did you expect? You demonstrated it was not about your fans or your team but it was all about you. Nobody cares about lebron, they car about what you can do for them. Lebron asks what do they want from him? How about making fans feel good.

When you figure that out Lebron, then you'll be back on top.

He is going to make Miami fans feel real good. He doesn't owe anyone anything. The problem most had with this decision BS was how he played the rest of the teams. His lack of commitment to a decision and dragging it out when he already knew where he was going hurt the other teams from making decisions.

the part of the commercial where he's got a Hall of Fame banner hanging behind him with no one there to hear his acceptance speech was overboard... this guy already thinks he's a HOFer apparently... i have no doubt when it's all said & done that he'll get there, but to promote himself as one already in a self promotional ad just tells u how full of himself this guy really is.

TMS I was confused by that too.. but now i realize.. he isn't picturing himself in front of the Hall of Fame banner... he is poking fun at Michael Jordan... alluding to how the media thought jordan had tarnished his legacy with that speech he gave when he was being inducted. Though he really did not. So LeBron was trying to draw a parrallel there.

I don't like how LeBron feels he can take shots at the games greats.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

By the way that's the kind of thing i was talking about with this commercial.. LeBron coming up with the idea of standing in front of a Hall of Fame banner to make fun of MJ? That was definitely cooked up in the mind of someone else!

i don't see any correlation there with MJ... where do you see that? all he said in the commercial was "well, that worked out real well"... where's the parallel to MJ's speech?

He does not owe them anything is true. But what branding must do is make a Consumer feel good about the products they endorse.

If you accept the endorsements then you owe your sponsers to keep your image up, so in effect you do owe the fans.

Remember Mike gave a H.O.F speech that shat on a lot of people and the next day pople in the media were like... "Jordan shouldn't have said those things... it hurts his legacy to hear him have such petty gripes". It is looked at as not one of his finer moments.

LeBron standing in front of an empty hall of fame ceremony sarcastically saying "That worked well" is poking fun at MJ for how MJ handled that "Decision". Right before that line he talks of tarnishing his legacy.

LeBron is saying.. hey... everyone makes missteps in life. Using Jordan's not-so-finest-hour to make his point.

oOOOhh the lost little boy... he wants to go play with his freinds

It's just so much drama with this dude..Nike invested like a 100 mill in this kid, they plan on making 5X there investment..If his popularity took a (josh hamilton like) hit, best belive there trying everything in there power to repair it, im sure his sneaker sales/brand took nice little hit as well.

I think the selling shoes thing was also a shot at Jordan.

it's funny cuz when i saw that portion of the commercial the only thing that came to mind was the fact that he'd destroyed his own legacy w/the whole "Decision" debacle & so down the road when it comes time for him to make his HOF acceptance speech, that no one bothered to show up... i didn't get any MJ inference at all to tell u the truth, but i guess it could have been a very subtle dig at his speech if u saw it that way.

They actually talked about this in PTI when they interviewed Barkley. They think that it is a dig at Jordan.

Man this fool just doesn't get it. He seems to think all the venom comes from him signing with Miami. Idiot, the venom comes from the Way you presented your so called decision; making your hometown fans as well as your team watch a 1hr special to learn you would be ripping their hearts out.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

"Man this fool just doesn't get it."

Imagine if Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson had Wieden & Kennedy (the Nike ad agency of record) creating advertising around his boxing career.

Think of how they might have channeled the overwhelming resentment for Johnson into compelling cant-miss television.
