We are trying to win games man. Landry takes what the defense gives him. His shot isnt all that either.

This is hilarious, since when did taking what the defense gives you a bad trait? This is fundamental, winning basketball. I'd much rather have a player do that then dribble themselves into several defenders, or take a wild shot.

Rose is not the answer.

It's nice to see D'Antoni and Walsh working with smart players. No offense to Chandler (because he clearly got game) but he isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the chandelier. And nothing is written on stone tablets. If Fields can't handle starting, he will head back tot he bench for Wil.

But I think it's a terrific move to start the season. And I suspect the smart kids will play well with the jocks.

I don't see a problem with this move. The Mayor as 6th man would be very good for both Wilson and the Knicks. TD, Wilson and AR can bring some defensive tenacity from the bench.

I don't mind this at all. Fields has shown skill and while he can be erratic like any rookie, the results seem to speak for themselves, and he defends. A backcourt of Fields and Felton could work out nicely and give us a semi consistent scorer on the perimeter, especially if Gallo continues to falter. With that said, I wouldn't be totally against bringing Gallo off the bench if he needs a fire lit under his arse, even though I think he's played a little better than people have given him credit for.

this might be good news long term but I really am not excited to hear a rookie not named Evan Turner is our starting SG

How about Douglas, Gallo and AR? Wilson starts at the 3?

you got it! at the draft combine he talked about how pushing his bitch down the stairs was the most important part of his training regimen, and why he is such a strong defender

Starting a SF at SG who cant shoot isnt going to help anyone. Fields got off because no one was checking for the guy in preseason.

Oh and to those saying Chandler put up nice stats at SG I say yea nice stats on a 29 win team.

"Simply put Fields got off because no one I checking for the guy."

Anubis - you want to try that again in English?

No it means putting up stats means diddly if it isnt adding wins. Chandler is a NBA SF. This would be the equivalent of playing Rudy Gay at SG. He can put up stats but I doubt you are going places.

I also remember Kevin Durant played SG his rookie year and put up good stats too. Does that mean he is a SG?

How exactly can't Fields shoot? He shot 42% from 3 pt range and 55% overall. Even if people guarded him more tightly and those #s became 45% and 35%, those are still pretty good shooting percentages. The guy can put it in the hoop so far.

If you insert Fields into the starting line up because all the other options at 2g struggled pretty much the entire camp, how does this help the bench. Sounds like you will have a bench full of struggling players losing leads, or not being able to come from behind.

Explain to me why you would want 3 or 4 struggling players coming off the bench, thats like replacing a flat tire with a flat doughnut.

I rather mix it up, starting your best 5 players is not always the best thing when you have 4 or 5 question marks on the bench, you have no idea what your going to get from them.
