Alan Hahn listed AJ Milano's top players in a little blurb in this morning's Newsday. I expect a good game -- these guys all look like they can play at a pretty high level. Here's what I found out along with some video to go with the names:

Oleksiy Pecherov, C - 6'10"-6'11" C/PF that's fairly skilled esp. when it comes to shooting the ball. I'm sure you guys remember this guy (he's the only guy they have that I'm really familiar with) -- drafted 18th in 2006 by the Wizards. Played in Wash. for 2 seasons, then later traded to Minny as part of a larger deal to get Mike Miller and Randy Foye (a deal Washington took instead of Wilson Chandler for the #5 pick that year which would've landed us Steph Curry or Rubio ). I'm sure Moz and this guy know each other's game quite well. That'll be an interesting matchup. All of our bigs have a decided advantage on this guy - just cover that jumpshot tight. Nicknamed "Stewie" from Family Guy. Hysterical, I can see the resemblance.

Morris Finley, PG - 5'11" guard played his college ball stateside for the UAB Blazers 2001-2004. Looks like a dynamic little scorer when he gets it going -- very fast with the ball with a lightning-quick trigger from deep..Felton and Douglas might have their hands full with this guy.

David Hawkins, SG/SF - 6'4" guard also played his college ball stateside for Temple from 2001-2004..Monster season for the Owls his last year going for over 24 ppg... Had a really nice season last year for Milan. Check out these numbers: In 34 games (23.7 mins per), 12.1 ppg, 56.9% FG (52% from 3), 92.5% FT, with a whopping 2.4 steals per. Wow.. Looks like Chandler will have his work cut out for him right from the start. I hope the Mayor's 100% - this guy's gonna be a tough cover..Much improved FG % shooter overall & from deep from when he played in college and apparently a guy with very quick hands that has always racked up a ton of steals wherever he's been.

Ibrahim Jaaber, PG/SG - 6'2" guard's talented just like almost everyone else on this Milan roster I've come across. He also played college ball in the US (Penn. Quakers 2003-2007). Looks like a quick, dangerous little scorer with hops who also has some ability to handle the ball and create.

Mason Rocca, PF/C - 6'9" PF/C looks like he can do it all for a big man -- executes the pick and roll extremely well, can put it on the floor, rebounds (great nose for the ball) and plays very hard. Amar'e better bring his A Game today. Rocca graduated from Princeton in 2000 before heading overseas in 2001 to start a European career. He's been there ever since.

I see the link....Not sure if it will work. But it might be too early. Somebody let me know when the game actually starts. I thought it was at 12 EST....

very sloppy...unsurprising, but you can see some signs (if the team is intact to start the season)...

a) felton looking WAY better than duhon (duh)
b) amar'e looking like he's way more of an upgrade of lee than some may be inclined to suggest
c) if we can move the ball (like the last play with chandler finishing) we are gonna be a tough team to beat

Knicks only up by 3? Just how good is this Armani Jeans team?

Knicks are getting killed on the fast-break defense. They are however, clearly a way more athletic and agile team than last year. The passing and turnovers are sloppy but I honestly believe this is due to the fact that none of these guys have ever played with each other before. First game, what do you expect?

Knicks cold from outside. Good news is that they have 4 blocks in the first quarter.
