Trading our "assets" for the likes of Parker is an old philosophy. Already, it's lets send Felton, Chandler, Gallo for some guy with a lot of miles on him. I am content to cast my fortunes with Donnie Walsh.

When did anyone mention trading Gallo? The point of this is we can get Parker without trading our major assets. It allows us to have 2 stars and still have most of our young talent. Read a little more carefully next time before you comment.

I made that remark as a culmination to sentiments along the same line. It all has the taste of the "quick fix", similar to your post. Next time, try to be a bit more insightful before you respond.

Knicks are in such better shape than Nets if that Melo deal goes through. Their roster will be crap. Lopez is turning out to be a very good offensive player but his post defense sucks. He blocks shots because guys attack the paint so much. Amare is > Melo. AR/Gallo/Mosgov/Chandler/etc >>>> than Lopez/rest of Nets.

You dont know who or what will be available next offseason. Who knew we has a shot at Randolph? He got hurt, GS coveted Lee and we had the cap space to make a trade.

By next summer NY will be a very desirable place to play. Im not worried and very happy w/ our prospects for improvement both internally and via draft/FA/trade.

Maybe we just trade for Arenas so Anubis can go streaking down 5th ave

I understand your point but once again we keep the young talent so how is it a quick fix? Even so don't you want to get good while Amare is still in his prime? There is no one to wait for anymore it's time to get good now. If we get Parker then we have 2 stars and 2 bright young talents with star potential. Is that a bad thing? Definitely not a quick fix just putting together a better team.

I agree. Parker is a better penetrator and scorer, but I actually think Felton is a better distributor and defender. Swapping Parker for Felton is not going to be a major upgrade.

I would be content for the Knicks to not make any moves and see what this team has. Eleven new players, and a young core of up and coming players after the last 6 years is pretty exciting in my opinion.

I do think the Nets will be much better if they add Melo. I also think they are set at every position except for point guard.

I'd sign Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford ... J/K. I'd probably just save for 2012. I don't see any impact players in 2011. Tony Parker is a Star but he's not a MAX FA.

Wait, what? The Nets have a better chance of landing CP3 than the Knicks, just because they got Melo?

Knicks got size, athleticism, youth, and Amare.

World Wide Wes and CAA are steering things.

Same with Melo. Would he have the same rate of shots? Would Amare be happy not getting fed as much?

MDA made Amare and Nash into what they became. With Gallo you have better efficiency shooter, maybe a better passer and certainly with Gallo you don't have a diva ego to feed.

With Melo off the market whats next?

How about Gallo with the ball, looking into Amare who attracts a double team and here comes AR flying down the lane on the weakside and Gallo threading an ally oop to him.

Thats what's next!!!!

Not Melo holding the ball for an isolation play.

Whats next?

Gallo 6-10
AR 6-10
Moz 7-1
Amare 6-11

I am in agreement

What's next is to chill and let things develop. Watch basketball. Stop playing GM and start playing coach.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Hope Gallo takes the next step.

Hope AR emerges.

Hope WC and TD haven't reached their ceiling already.

Hope Azubuike is healthy.

That is a lot of hoping going on. Once again we go into a season with what we have been so familiar with hope. Hope we get to the playoffs. Hope this team over achieves and surprises the world.

I'm not worried about the "hope" factor. Yeah there are some questions, but we also know that this is the most athletic team in Knicks history and probably the most athletic in the league. This team is full of young talent and the upside of all those players is very high. The really good thing is that we aren't leaderless!!! We have a 5X All Star that wants to be a leader and is already doing just that leading this young group. Man you can't ask for more than that really. Felton the guy with the ball is a dependable floor leader and he's got the pedigree plus time spent under LB, which is sure to have a positive impact based on his history of training PG's.

More importantly this is what should have everyone in Knickland excited:

Add in this guy and you really shouldn't be talking as if this team is not gonna be competitive with the best teams in the League. Add in Turiaf and we're suddenly a really big team. Why is everyone acting all scared and worried? We don't have any scrubs on this team.

Gallo has definitely bulked up in this pic. They say the same about Will, but his tattos are in the way.
