I most certainly do care. As for everyone else, football is simply held at a higher standard, even higher than baseball.

I know some of you care of course, but it just seems like a lot of you just doesn't care. I would be absolutely thrilled if my country could make the finals in the WC of a wide range of sports - from handball to curling.
I think you'd be surprised at how many people here NEVER heard of the World Cup prior to the year we brought home the bronze. Lots of people don't even bother with the Olympics...myself included (winter olympics that is).
We American's are an arrogant and easily jaded bunch.....unless the event is held here many couldn't care less.
