If you say to a person--we will sign you--give you a second chance but it's either conform to our rules and way of doing things--or its over that quickly--wouldnt that eb motivation for a person to stay on their best behavior knowing that this chance at making this kind of money would be their last--if it snot meant to be--then thats that--no harm no foul. We gave Sprewell a second chance Anthony Mason--this is the type of player with the situation we are in now--rookie guard in Douglas player that is injured in Azubike. Im pretty sure he is suspended the first 10 games and we could get a very good look at him before he steps on the court. I think it's a viable option unless we make a trade for depth. I think we are still one front-court guy/one back-court guy short even with 14--we have injury and experience concerns.

You would think so Briggs, but certain people just cannot conform.
You would think that one time in prison would be enough to straighten out anybody, but there are plenty of examples of repeat offenders.

The Knicks got rid of contracts but they didn't have anyone with the problems that the guys on your list have and D'Antoni had a tough time handling them. I think if you go with D'Antoni as coach you have to understand that the character component is very important and that he is not a guy that does well with guys that need to be mentored and held accountable.

I agree..MDA has proving that he expects guys to work hard, get better, play smart and be professional, his theory....You get paid millions to do it, why should he have to baby sit.

Larry was all about that. HE was just very grumpy about it.

Think about this---we were rumored to want to give up Chandler for Fernandez--is Fernandez even better than West???? I dont think he is at all--I think west is the better player. And I wouldnt have to give up anything to find out.

I don't think this guy has done anything to not be able to get a second chance. Maybe some personal problems that he hasnt dealt with correctly. But does that end someones career?

On September 17, 2009 West was pulled over for a traffic violation while riding a 3-wheeled motorcycle. During this stop it was found that West had a 9mm Beretta pistol, .357 Magnum and a Remington 870 in a guitar case.

Not exactly weapons for protection. Not to mention sleeping with a teammates Mom and bringing down an entire franchise. He isn't that good to deal with more negative PR. We don't need it.

i think his defense is without question better than Delonte's & he has every bit the offensive talent... he's not had the chance to prove himself as Delonte has i will acknowledge that but i think he is more of a winning type of player than Delonte... plus u don't have to worry about him sleeping with your moms or pretending to be Mad Max Desperado on a motorcycle.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I think were going to find out in the next day or two that Delonte West will be a Celtic again. The rich get richer here. This team is stacked from 1-15

after what the Knicks have gone through over the past 8 years I can't understand how you would want West in the locker room.

Boston in different position than the Knicks.

Smart move by Knicks to pass on this guy.

Nate and Delonte as back up.

The rich get nuttier!!!!!

A strong leadership team can absorb Coo-Coo Puffs with out distraction. They keep things in line.

Rebuilding teams don't.

Contenders can do things we can't.

I think Delonte on the court against the heat is great theatre!!!!!

Put Delonte on Lebron and have him taunt him: "Can you smell your momma on my breath"? See how Lebron reacts to that!!!!

I thought he was the best talent left on the market we could get for nothing--signed to a vet min with tight leash. I want to look at each year as a chance to win it all now and I think we need one more proven talented guard and big man for depth against these other teams--especially the C's. I'm of the mindset to win--I think DElonte is in his prime with a lot to prove and this wouldve been a good style for him. We haev Amare Stoudemire now---I think that is the leadership with the 20mm and one mission. I dont buy the other stuff with Amare and felton now on the team.

If he gets out of line Shaq will keep him in his arm pit and, well, lets just say in life:

Then we can have Delonte guard LeBron and psyche him out of the game. At which point we walk off the court victorious and then subsequently release Delonte West.

+1

in all seriousness..I think Delonte has game.

PG: Felton, Douglas
SG: Buike, Chandler, Gallo, Douglas (???)
SF: Chandler, Gallo, Randolph
PF: Amare, Randolph, Gallo
C: Turiaf, Amare, Mozgov, Curry (????)

Briggs..where does Delonte fit in here?

Given that MDA likes a tight rotation, doesn't Delonte take minutes away?

Would it make more sense to give minutes to

Douglas - to see if he's worth keeping around or to get him some experience trying to run the offense

Buike - to see if his body can handle the minutes

Chandler - to see if he's a potential star or at a plateau

Gallo - Is a lineup with him at SG viable?

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I'm guessing this is part psychological warfare against the Heat. Lebron has shown he can be rattled, Delonte might do the trick.

I've met and talked with Ray a few times--his Mom still lives in West Hartford but I don't think I have speed call on his cell phone:) No it was reported that Delonte was taking a physical in Massachusetts on Nesn.

Ray Allen better be on guard.
