Would you rather have Iggy for the next 4 years 12,13,14,15 Million per

or

Melo for 16-18 M per for god knows how long we sign him for?

Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Iggy/Melo. Young studs we might have a slim chance in getting.

You kidding me? Igoudala is nowhere near the level of Carmelo Anthony. 76er fans will tell you that too.

Melo is a superior scorer.....iggy is a superior everything else. That's a fact....pull up stats and compare highlights....iggy is also a legit guard that can pass and handle like a pg and fly on the court and through the air just as well as Lebron. Fact

Bro, Carmelo is a superstar and the leader of his team. He's been to game 7 of the WCF as the first option. When did Igoudala accomplish anything like that? It's not like he's a 2nd fiddle to anyone. He's been playing on awful teams so it's clear he's not as good as you make him out to be. His contract is terrible and would destroy our cap flexibility we spent so much time trying to fix. He'snot worth it.

Carmelo popular that is fact and people love him but he is just a scorer. Melo doesn't make his team better only if he's scoring. He's an elite level scorer though. Nobody is saying he isn't.....but iggy is superior in every other aspect of the game. You can't except that? or is it blasphemy to go against the laws of idol worship?

I'm not worshiping anyone. I'm telling you the facts. Carmelo is a better talent than Igoudala. It's not even a discussion worth having because it's so ludicrous to suggest otherwise.

Wait a sec Eny....Melo grabs just as many (slightly more actually) rebounds. The only big statistical advantage Iggy holds is in assists.

I would like Iggy if things fall through with Melo. Is Iggy a better all around player than Melo? Yeah. But Melo is such a presence on offense that it doesn't matter. Melo draws double teams and changes the ways opposing teams scheme on a given night. I mean, there's a reason why there is a 4 to 5 point difference in their PERs.
Iggy has been given enough time to show if he's a guy capabale of carrying a scoring load and he hasn't done it yet. It doesn't mean he's a bad or soft player, it just means that he doesn't have that mentality. Iggy is a guy you worry about in a close game while Melo is the guy that scares you. It's as simple as that.

Exactly....

As far as the Knicks....the price is gonna be high for Melo. Technically it doesn't matter because of what you're getting in return. Iggy wouldn't command that type of package and saves Randolph and Gallo in the process.

There aren't any reports as of yet that Iggy is even available, but if Rod thorn wants cap relief Knicks should jump on Iffy rather than wait for a Carmelo that might not even come

maybe the thought was that Iggy is a better *fit* for the Knicks as opposed to a better player?

Melo is clearly better, but pound for pound Iggy might make the Knicks better than Melo does.

I would say Iggy plays better D but it didnt really translate stats-wise. Look at 82games opponents FG%:
own vs. opponents / diff / % of team's minutes played at that pos
Melo SF: .481 / .508 / -.027 /56%
Melo PF: .459 / .512 / -.053 /10%
-----------------------------------
Iggy SG: .512 / .509 / + .003 / 26%
Iggy SF: .466 / .498 / -.032 / 51%

Also since they log every minute Iggy is playing as much SF as Melo, although most would agree he's more a SG (like when Spree played SF).

Here is the REAL question.

Its the Feb deadline. Knicks are decent and are the 6th seed in the Easter conf standings. Phili sucks. Lets also say Mosgov is the starting C for the Knicks and averaging 6ppg 8rpg and 2blocks in 22 minutes. They are willing to trade you Iggy for Chandler, Curry, Mosgov and Fields (who has looked good in small doses like Douglas did last year).

You make that trade knowing it also takes you out of getting Melo next year?

I like Igoudala as a player, more than Carmelo, but it seems that getting him would be a lateral move - meaning I'm not sure our TEAM would get better. I'd rather just let the team gel and improve from within for now.

Our most glaring NEED is a dominating center of some kind. The problem here is the center would have to fit in D'Antoni's system so there aren't many out there that fit and are a defensive presence as well. Actually, Anthony Randolph is probably the ideal fit for Center, except he hasn't proven to be durable and he'd have to bulk up.

Rose is not the answer.
