He knew his destination from the beginning it was all about Miami creating the space for LeBron. Even had the Knicks created space for the three they weren't going to come here. The Knicks fan really shouldn't care much for player that are not going to be on the Knicks. Only concern we should have for other players is if they can make the Knicks better to compete at the highest level.Time to move on guys and who really cares if LeBron is liked or Hated he ain't a Knick. If you aren't a Knick you are hated.
you are welcome to your opinion but me, I chose to bad mouth him for as long as possible. If I see him in public I will heckle him and my only regret is I haven't had the chance to do it yet.
Heckling him what does that truly give you. Does it make you feel that much better does it make him a Knick? Our priority should be on our Knicks the man made his decision and made his bed. All Heckling does is make him more famous, eventually he will reach martyr status. If you become indifferent to LeBron that is the best route as his fame will take a hit. Isn't that what everyone here wants for LeBron to take a hit in status for his decision.
I agree with you a bit, but want to play a little "devil's advocate," here.
You can make a case that being silent is taken for respect by James. The heckling makes the heckler feel better (I am not a heckler, by the way.)and in the case of Princess James, it becomes a visible reminder of how he is now looked at by many sports fans, and tarnishes the legacy and image he was attempting to craft prior to his decision to go to South Beach.
He may actually deserve the vocal disrespect he will be getting because of what he did in Vegas shortly after the "Decision." That celebration was acted out under the pretense that James was still "kingly" as a basketball personality, with no recognition that his Miami decision diminished his stature as a so called "superstar."
I think that the intelligent sport fan is already doing to James what many baseball fans did to McGwire, Bonds, Sosa, ARod, etc., when they found out about how they were using PEDs. There is a mental asterisk besides each of those names (and others) in my book when I compare them to the HR hitting greats of the past.
As far as LeBron James is concerned there is now an asterisk next to his name. Unless Wade gets injured early on and James takes them to a title on his back, James' rank as a so called "great" is now fixed at the Ewing/Barkley/K.Malone/Nowitzky level, with no chance of advancement.
Vocal fans will serve as a reminder to a newer generation of fans who will be unaware of James' actions when they begin rooting for a team or individual players.
James commented that he would not forget all the folks who had been critical of him- I say that fans should do the same thing with LeBron- never let him live down his decision and make sure he gets verbally chopped down when he acts like he is anything more than a small minded player with pretensions of grandness and a yellow streak.
