Bring him back as long as we got cap room for Melo or assets for CP3.

Guy is good character player and good defense.

Jeffries was never our problem. Just his contract. If it expires, so what. He is more useful than Eddy.

One possible (but unlikely) reason that I can see to make a trade like this would be if Donnie had a move in mind that requires a smaller expiring contract in order for this other move to fit the cap.

JJ ($6.883M) * 1.25 +$100K = $8,703,750.

EC = $11,276,863.

Difference = $2,573,113.

$2,573,113 / 1.25 = $2,058,490 additional salary needed to be included in any trade.

The above mentioned salaries appear to ignore the trade kickers on each of JJ's contract and EC's contract. I would expect JJ's actual contract amount to be $500,000 higher than that stated on Hoopshype and the other sites, since he was traded last year with a $1M trade kicker (prorated over remaining contract years), and, I would expect EC's trade amount to be $1,000,000 higher for the acquiring team, since this is the final year of his contract.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Oh man... that Jared-Jeffries-girl is gonna freak out.

Especially if she reads this and realizes people are calling her "that Jared-Jeffries-girl".

No one wants curry, but no one wants jeffries for that matter. But atleast jeffries can contribute and is worth more than curry.

HOU has got several inquiries about F Jared Jeffries ($6.8 m in final yr of contract), according to a source. Knicks dangling Curry, assets

I rather have that turd Eddy Curry rotting his fat ass on the bench and not playing than having Jared Jeffries here playing and taking minutes away from Anthony Randolph and Ronny Turiaf.

LOL, this will make TMS' day. He will go ballistic about Jordan Hill and the draft picks.

what draft picks? we don't have any more left to trade for the next 3 years... good thing or else Donnie might get tempted.

I'd make this trade if they include Jordan Hill and our first rounder. They can keep the swap rights.

why would they have to include assets for us to dump Curry's bigger contract? if anything they'll ask us for assets to take Curry off our hands... the absolute most i'm giving up to take Fishlips back is Andy Rautins... i wouldn't even give up the Russian or Landry Fields to take Fishlips back, they can have him & his sticky gluey ass.

have them throw in the rights to our next 2 1st round picks & we can sign T-Mac to a 1 year deal & ship him back West.

I hated JJ as an overpaid, salary cap busting contract and full time starter, BUT I don't mind having him as an expiring contract and limited minutes back up role player off the bench- especially if it means getting rid of curry. Take a look at our front line- we need some sort of injury insurance as if Turiaf, Randolph or Amar'e get injured we have nothing really to replace them with. The problem is the salary difference pretty much wipes out the $3mil in money we could send the Rockets, so I don't see how it would be worth their while.

We could use another big man with the possible injury risks of Stoudemire, AR, and Turiaf, so i am all for this pick up. I have no interest in Ariza and his contract however. I always felt he was extremely overrated and i'm not interested in a SG/SF who shoots under 40% from the field and 32% from three, while taking all those shots. The guy thinks he's a 20 points per game scorer and he's just an overpaid glue guy. Tayshaun Prince but not nearly as efficient on offense.

I can't agree with you guys. Curry is a total waste of an on earth. He should be shot into orbit where he can orbit a planet or something. At least Jarad can contribute and remember, his contract was the main reason for any ire he received. Guy was our best defender and was even improving on offense. NY took a definite step back defensively when he was traded.

its pure common sense move; trading a broken piece for one that works

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I disagree with your premise that JJ "works".
He stinks and would rather see every last player on this roster rather than see JJ take another minute
of Knicks playing time.

umm you MUST be basing your opinion on personal dislike because Jarad was not part of the problem. His last season he was a solid role player for the squad.

But the things you cant discount is that one can play while the other is a Tub of Lard. Both are expiring. Would you rather have a hoopty in your driveway that doesn't work or one that does. Doesn't take genius to figure that out.

Go back and read some of what was being posted prior to his trade. Cats were pleased with what we were getting out of Jarad.

I want the Tub of Lard. I don't want either of them on the floor, and I can be guaranteed that Fatty won't be.

jeff was a good defender for us and with the team we are making up he'd be a good insurance policy if any one in our front court gets injured. He's an expiring contract and usable.

Can you give more to your thinking than just the insults you've aimed at them. You don't want him I understand that but, is there MORE to your reasoning or is it purely personal (which is what is coming across)

I don't see the point either. I could see D'Antoni starting JJ again and guys
like Randolph not getting enough minutes. Randolph may not play center (at first)
but getting another lanky (somewhat) athletic big isn't going to make it easier
for AR to get his minutes.

It looks like they still want to tinker with the roster but at some point they need to
evaluate what they already have. They are starting to sound like they are trying
to be too clever by half.
