Again, I feel good about this team, which is why they'll go 41-41 imo.

50 wins is just false hope.

Your commentary hits on some valid points about fans breaking out of a loser mentality as much as the players. Besides, there is no such thing as hijacking a thread. The conversation can take obtuse twists and turns and wind back up on point, if the point had a point to start with

When Debbie Downers Like jrzyhustla refuse to back their pessimism it is only because they are stuck in the past or have nothing entertaining or educational to offer. That stubborn refusal to let go of the past sucks because this brand new roster (only 4 holdovers) is stocked with guys to feel good about.

The Answer Man told me personally that once A'mare-Gallo-Randolph understand their dance positions on the court, their ballet and ball movement could be a beautiful thing to watch.

Why?

A'mare operates from the foul line, in. Randolph operates inside the three point arc. Gallo circulates and matriculates around the deep perimeter to the foul line. Based on their strengths, Donnie visualized their symmetry. The best part? Each of them is fluid laterally. Our big guys can move. As a bonus, if needed they can dribble the basketball in moderate traffic. That creates space.

I'm widit.

Great reply man

Well said!!

I like our team ....... Negativity never helps but none of this would be remotely interesting if we
didn't have the haters!!

I see nothing but good things this year with this team

Gallo Amare and AR EVERYONE should be excited about from a basketball stand point!

But Felton Chandler Walker Buki and Douglas are also young and upcoming talent with Chandler
a shoe in for a very productive year ..... #'s might be slightly lower then last cause we can
score from too many places..... Rebounds and blocks go up for sure

He will be asked to D up SG position and believe he did well last year on a ****ty team
doing all the things asked of him...... We will be doiong SSOL for first time with real PG
and The Mayor finishing at the rim with the best of them!!

Who do you watch for on the break? Amare?

AR will kill you then!!

AR? Gallo will kill you..... Gallo? Chandler will kill you!!

Felton showed he can run the break but I see us as the guy who gets rebound can
run the break

Again AR has handle ( and is lefty which is proven hard to guard)
Gallo showed he can bring ball up on the break
Amare runs like a beast and so does Chandler

Douglas too can run and shoot and hound you on D

We should be better everywhere on this team

If Walker or Drago or even Fields bring anything at all from the potential I see
we will be very hard to team defend and Lebitch will regret his dumb move!!

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

Charlotte won 44 games last season because they lead the league in OPP PPG at 93.8, the Knicks and Raptors were 27th in the league in that department. Charlotte was also 6th in OPP FG%. The Knicks ? Dead last.

You can't compare last yrs knicks squad to this yr knicks squad. We had Chris Duhon as our PG and David Lee as our center.

We will probably be half as good as last yr bobcats defensively but twice as good as them offensively. Amare is also better then any player the Bobcats fielded last season. Gallo, Chandler, Randolph, Bookey, Douglas, Turiaf, Felton give us a deeper squad as well. Not even counting Walker or Fields.

I understand what you're saying, but that's why I posted about the Knicks needing to be in the top half of the league in offensive categories, because we're not going to get it done defensively.

I don't think we will be on the bobcats level. But I don't think we aren't going to get it done either. Turiaf, Randolph, Amare, Mozgov and even Gallo and Chandler have shot blocking cappabilities. Felton and Douglas play tough defense and pile up steals. Bookey, Chandler, Gallo, Randolph also show effort when defending there men. Man to man post defense may be the biggest weakness. Help defense and stopping PG penetration will be very solid IMO.

Our defense will definitely be better, but the question is how much better? And imo, it's not much. D'antoni isn't expecting much from the team defensively as well, so the offense is what matters.

Think of it this way

David Lee's shots are taken by Amar'e
Al Harrington's shot attempts are willed to Randolph
Chris Duhon's leftover shots are donated to Gallo

Nate's shots are split between Azubuike or Fields
Jared Jeffries shots go to Mozgov

Marv - to be honest, not to be confused with the rest of the time that I'm lyin' my azz off, I like Ray Felton. His role as a facilitator and tempo setter is vital. In addition, became Toney Douglas will make each other better by expressing their competitive fire practice

I'll like Felton even more if he averages 9.3 assists

He gets willed half the shots left by Duhon and some table scraps left by Nate

Felton is gonna get assists because we have a TON of scoring around him. So far we haven't really seen MDA's SSOL, cuz we haven't had a PG that could actually run it. Felton was the fastest guard in his draft and then behind him we have TD who was also the fastest. Felton's presence is what will allow Amar'e, Gallo & AR to shine. Not to mention the rest of our very capable roster. To me he was the key acquisition this off season. He will be that coach on the floor we've lacked. He doesn't have to be CP3 for us to have a great year. We've got so much scoring all we need is for him to push the pace and make the passes to setup easy scores and open shots. We haven't had a PG who was capable of doing that consistently. The few short periods when Duhon played well you can see just how much more we won. I'm telling you that even with our flawed roster, if we had Felton the last 2 years we wouldn't have lost so many games. It means that much for MDA to have a capable PG. Not necessarily Nash or CP3, but at least a guy that's GOOD. Felton surely is good enough to get the job done.
