3rd option are you nuts? The only place he would be 3rd option is on the heat, if Melo is your 3rd option you are ballin

When you're building a team, spots 4-12 should not be the priority. The priority are spots 1-3. Get your 3 Stars. You worry about the bench later.

Yeah...you gotta point. Let's give a few months to the current squad and see if Amare, Gallo, Randolph can fill that bill. It could be this frontcourt see's the floor with Felton and Azubuike/Douglas as the guards at some point. That would be a SSOL lineup that could have some scary speed.

No real need to gut this squad. D'Antoni should now have his type of players available and able to play his type of offense. They will score points I believe and players value. Paul by himself doewn't get you a ring as Amare/Nash has shown.

Or do you think the two are sufficient to beat the crew in South Beach? Not me.

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

Good idea, this Paul crap is getting ugly and personally Im not liking the players are ruling the roost.

One reason, I like players to buy into the "Team" concept and play for a coach and each other.

Lebron has his hands all over Paul.

A team with 3 SuperStars with 9 scrubs is better then 9 good/average players. Give me Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Amar'e Stoudemire with 9 NBDL players over what we currently have.

Very true. You can't build a house without a solid foundation right?

IMO CP3 is the clearcut choice to pair up with Amare, not Melo.

I disagree. When you already have a PG who is very good and has a shot at PERHAPS fighting for an all star spot under D'Antoni, and then you have a glaring need for a go to guy on the wing, you don't try to improve what doesn't need to be improved. You go for that wing player, who can also play a little pick and roll, and doesn't HAVE to be the go to player at every single point, because we have low post scoring AND a PG who can do things with the ball. That makes Melo that much deadlier.

Felton, Melo, AR, Amare and Gallo are sooooooooooooooooooooo much better than a meniscusless CP3 and Amare and just one of Gallo or AR, or neither!

i would much rather go to battle with CP3, Amare & Gallo on the wing than Felton, Amare & Melo on the wing... that's just me... i want a system predicated on ball movement & getting guys involved, not 1 guy launching up shots all game long with everyone else standing around twiddling their thumbs... that's not my concept of a championship system... even Kobe needed to start trusting his teammates more & getting them involved before he was able to win his 1st ring w/o Shaq... i'm sorry but if you think Ray Felton is going to dictate where the ball goes to in a system w/Carmelo Anthony, i think you're sorely mistaken... Melo will be the guy taking the lion's share of the shots in that setup... i happen to think CP3 & Amare running the P&R w/Gallo on the wing to shoot the open 3 is an ideal setup for an MDA style of play.

I'm really looking forward to having Gallo and AR on the same team. If Gallo takes the next step in his growth, and Randolph can find a comfort zone as a player, we have a great pair of young players to look forward to for the next 10 years.

I would like to have a classic quick release SG, but if Chandler progresses and Azubuike heals, we have two pretty good/tough players at the 2, who can also play the 2 if we want to bring in Douglas at the 2 and go small.

I see a lot of flexibility on this team, with many potential lineups for MDA to play around with based on chemistry and game circumstances. One of the first times in recent years that I am looking forward to watching the team play, instead of having to root for certain players because of a dysfunctional team.

outstanding summary

Not going to happen. Do the math, prove it is capable both fiscally and realistically and then I would entertain the thought. It is a near impossible feat because we do not have the talent to land both players in trades nor do we have the cap space to sign both.

So, if you could land Melo next year without losing any prospects, then you could think about trading for Paul. But, you ought to get the benefit of that cap space next year first.

You know I gonna spin wit it
