So is this your new persona now? The super anti knick guy?

Theres no reason to think Gallo and AR wont put up 17/7 and 15/8 respectively. The third year is when most players make the most progress and I think that will hold true for our players. We have the front line of the future right now, we have to cap space to add players in the future, why are we considering butchering our team? This isnt NBA live and im tired of our team conducting itself as if it is.

Nooo I'm not one of those negative Knicks fans. I'm just being honest and realistic. And I don't see Dirk Nowitzki or Kevin Garnett talent with Danilo Gallinari or Anthony Randolph. Believe me, I hope I'm dead wrong and these two become the corner stones of this franchise alone with Amar'e Stoudemire.

The thing with Danilo and Anthony is that they actually might become great players. And here's the bonus: we have them at a quarter of the price.

Price is what's key here. It's all about the cap. If we can get CP3, it must absolutely be without Emeka. We have to remain flexible under the cap. CP3 w/ Emeka is not worth it.

They may not make it to superstar status - but they are the kinds of guys you want on your roster next to an Amare, Melo, or CP3 - they will go to war with you and help you win a series. Its letting go of these types of players and having no support talent that will gut a franchise. CP3 is a nice player but only at the right price.

Why do we insist on hyping guys to extreme levels?

Guys usually breakout their 3rd year. If we dont see enough potential we can still trade either next summer.

The pieces are there... lets let this thing cook now and develop. He's the patience part

This is the scenario that we've begged for for 10+ years. I know, I should be talking to the Knick prez instead of the fantasy team builders, but take time to taste the seasonings that have been placed in the pot. Maybe it's just right as is.

There is no reason to make a trade. We have enough to get to the playoffs. If we make the move do we have a enough to win a title? The answer is NO!!

So why trade half your team for a guy that is coming off of knee surgery. It's bone on bone in his knee. He is a fantastic player and a game changer. But waiting a year and building value in Chandler, AR, Gallo and Felton makes more sense. We actually have the makings of a great team if we are patient for once.

I really believe Danillo took a big step at the end of the year. He know has a double team threat and a point guard to play with. If AR plays well we are going to beast people up front. Outside of the heat and bulls I think we can play with anyone. The Celtics are older and without perkins and allen there defense is going to take a huge hit. The hawks couldn't beat us last year and haven't improved. The cavs and bobcats are much worse. The bucks are the only team that improved and that's if you like gooden and maggette are upgrades.

Play with what you have. This team is going to suprise a lot of people

Gallo/Amare/Randolph, if Randolph can get a little more weight with a fast PG that can pass would be sick and athletic and could out run any other front court and have enough length to play awesome help defense...

Melo/Gallo/Amare/Randolph with a fast PG could be nearly unstoppable. You can't double either Melo or Amare, the floor is wide open with Gallo pulling a wing player 22 ft from the basket, and Randolph is as fast a 7 fter as you will ever find.

I don't know that Paul adds that much more than Felton that its worth giving up on either Gallo or Randolph. Again, any other player(s) and I would be interested.

What it comes down to is that I want Melo more than Paul, especially if my core is Melo/Gallo/Amare/Randolph.

You know I gonna spin wit it

People are talking like Gallo has done more and shown people in the LEAGUE more than Randolph and that's alarming to me.

Some say CP3 if he comes to NY WE HAVE TO GIVE UP Randolph and Chandler ,but never Gallo and Chandler WHY IS THAT ?

In this system if both Gallup and Randolph remain healthy I think Randolph covers more ground(ALL AROUND) for the Knicks than any other player on the team including Amare.

Suppose they want Gallo? It's not just about AR. Also Amare played with a pretty good 2 time MVP PG before and it didn't mean a title. Perhaps we could take the approach that having the skills of AR or Gallo enhances the team in ways that would be of more value than a pairing that would be much like Nash/Amar'e. We really could use AR's shotblocking and energy as well as his length on D. Gallo's ability to stretch the floor is a great complement to Amar'e inside. What we're likely to get from Felton would be a solid PG not too far off from the best PG's in the league.

considering your favorite coach has only found success in his NBA coaching career while coaching a team w/a top notch PG & a topnotch bigman running the P&R in his offense, i would think you of all people would be in favor of getting CP3 to pair up with Amare... Ray Felton ain't taking this team anywhere, you can bank on that... we signed him to a 2 year contract for a reason.

I'm not saying that CP3 wouldn't be successful, but there's obviously more to the mixture than having a premier PG and PF who can run P&R. Stockton/Malone and Nash/Amare ran it like few others ever have, but it can be argued that it has it's limitations. I think Felton can run the P&R well enough, but keeping the 2 kids could turn out to be of more overall value in terms of team composition.

Also MDA's offense isn't really meant to run quite like it was under Nash or perhaps with CP3. Ball dominant guards aren't what the system is about. It just worked great cuz Nash was so good at what he did. MDA went with it and used it to perfection. He's not a stiff coach as many believe. He's very flexible in how he can use talent. I think Cp3 would be exciting and I wouldn't say no to him coming. I just think there's something to be said about keeping AR and Gallo and letting Felton run the show with a team that has length and skill few other teams have. Both Gallo and AR could be on the brink of busting out. A non ego PG like Felton would allow these other players to shine IMO. Not that CP3 wouldn't, just that Felton would more easily defer to his teammates. In a team concept that could work when you have other great players on the floor. like I said it's a tough call.

Word. Well put. Let's stand pat for now and see what we have. Paul isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

we have three superstars on the frontline--- Chris paul Give me Ray felton and let me keep my guys--find some impact bench players and go to war.

If you had the choice which foursome would you prefer?

Felton, Gallo, Randolph, Amare
Paul, Melo, Randolph, Amare

I take the latter and think getting (or keeping) these guys is possible if we gave up Gallo to get Paul.

I am a big chris paul fan, I think he is the best pg in the league, but it is not like duhon is our PG now.. felton is.. Is paul that much better than felton to want to give up two young prospects like gallo and AR? I am with you briggs.

His mental stuff scares the living crap outta me. I mean while granted he was coached by that sociopath Nelson, dude couldn't handle the pressure in Golden State very well. What happens when stuff eventually hits a rough patch in NY? We'll have to get the straight jackets and a room a Bellevue.

I package Randolph and Chandler in a heartbeat. Chandler is nothing special to me at all. Built like a freakin' tank, he still can barely make it 60 games without getting injured? For a player whose whole game is based on athleticism? Yeah....good luck wit' dat!

Randolph, Chandler, Bukke, Turiaf for Paul.

I have advocated patience mainly because I don't want to lose Gallo. But that package I would pull the trigger right now. Doubtful Demps would even consider it. I agree we will likely need a third team if we're going to land CP3 this summer.

And really Gallo is entering his second full season, since the first one was a bust due to the back. But I think Gallo blows up this season. HE's going to be a monster and I wouldn't trade him for anyone not named "Melo". The ONLY reason I would trade him for Melo is that they fill the same spot on the roster and I don't think it would be good to have Gallo come off the bench.

it is not like paul is going to put up 32/20.... steve nash who is not far behind paul at all put up similar numbers to 16/10..

Gallo is a 6-10 big fram 21 year old kid filling out and is one of the leagues best shooters with a decent handle.

Randolph is a underdeveloped body with great athletic ability but low fundamentals and bad shot selection. His potential is great but he has not established himself like gallo has nor proven to stay healthy.

They have very different games. Gallo can open the floor up and given his size and ability it is not a common skill set.

Most people feel that if you bring in Paul you need this type of ball player.

If you want to bring in Carmello and it was a trade senario then Gallo would be expendable.

I like the idea of both AR and Gallo.

Your original distain for Gallo's hype being of a community background.

What is really "alarming" about the desire for many fans to want to keep Gallo?

He is a drafted player by us who posses shooting ability, works hard and is marketable.

I can only guess what really "alarms" you!

You really think the league lacks black marketable players?

The South Beach boys got together to win a championship, not to make maximum dollars. To improve the teams chances of winning, they were willing to leave "money on the table". Seems to me, Chris Paul has the same motivation and maximum dollars is not necessarily what will attract him the most. Clearly, he is giving up maximum dollars already, when he leaves New Orleans.

I think the Knicks are in a great strategic situation with Chris Paul. They offer him his best chance to win. I therefore think the Knicks should refuse to do a sign and trade with New Orleans. If Chris Paul wants to not sign another contract with New Orleans and then sign on with the Knicks, that would be great. But I think the Knicks should simply say that they are unwilling to sign Chris Paul, if the consequence is an inability to sign Melo.

It is absolutely essential, imo, to find out how well Felton and Randolph fit into the 2010 Knicks team before you think about trading either one of them. Lets find out what we have have before we make any more big deals. Patience please.

You are wayyyy off man.

You make Randolph who started his pro career playing with a nutty coach (Don sippy cup Nelson)some kind of under privelege kid who can't walk and chew bubble gum.

Danphoney himself last night on KNICKS LIVE TALK said Gallo can't just try and come to play in certain situations or 4th qtrs heroics but play consistently ALL DURING THE GAME for 82 games. He said that Gallo's head has to be into an entire game. That sounds just as dysfunctional as your trying to make Randolph saying his fundamentals are poor and he has bad shot selection.

What I was trying is this, You can't put one over the other, they both are 21 yrs of age and both missed a ton of games at least 1 yr in their career, but Gallo has actually played professionally since he was 16 yrs of age with grown men.

Stop with the color thing man, this is about skills on the basketball court.

gallo and ar are SO far off from being superstars that this discussion is ridiculous. both have huge holes in their games. they’re young and skilled so could both develop into something, but at this point it is pure speculation. they could both easily become nothing more than journeymen.
