This c*ck has balls!

I really don't want to trade this kid. Imagine what Nowitzki would have been of he had this kid's chip on his shoulder! That is this kid's ceiling.

I love the guy too but as I wake up and read this article about CP3 (keeping in mind that im not drinking the koolaid and losing my mind just yet) but any deal to get him in NY has to start with Gallo...you're telling me you don't pull the trigger on that?

I don't pull the trigger on that. No need to give up gallo if you can flat out sign a star next season. And, if you give up gallo, who is the perimeter threat?

Its like trading your young HS child- a very good kid who is getting better- for the kid next store, who has already completed his first year at Harvard, but who came back from with some unsettling grades (Paul's injury).

Walsh is more likely to move Randolph in the trade- some don't want to hear this, but it is probably true. Just wish that all of this came up before we signed Felton, who may not be a trade chip with NO because they already have Collison. (Although you can make a case that having Felton under contract may allow Donnie to deal from a position of strength- he could tell NO that we already have a healthy PG- why give up so much for someone coming off an injury.)

Watch out for the grape koolaid.

I don't see anyway that we can get Paul without including Gallo. Personally, I don't see anyway we can get him period so I'm not going to get to excited. He's got two years left on his deal so NO is doing him no favors and even if they do stay within those three teams - how doesn't Orlando have the best shot at him - keep howard and rashard and take anyone else you want for Paul and they're challenging the Heat.

I agree with you and I am not worried about it. I wanted Chris Paul earlier in the offseason, but we've made other plans now. I like the thought of having cap space to sign a guy like Melo next year, after Gallo and Randolph have another year of development. I'd like to make that happen before the trade deadline, but I like a core that includes Amare, Gallo, Randolph and some cap space. Then, having some maneuverability next offseason and in 2012, we could end up with Deron Williams. As otherwise posted, Felton may flourish. If this had happened before we committed to Felton for 2 years, then I would have pushed harder--- but I think that developing this team while putting the Knicks in a position to grab Melo is more important than Chris Paul now. The Lakers and Magic have much more to offer NO anyway.

I don't see the Lakers as big players in for Paul - they don't need a point gaurd like him anyway and they're better off keeping Odom and Bynum (two guys they'd prob have to lose to get him) and maintaining that enormous length then adding paul. That offense runs through Kobe anyway.

I also am not drinking the kool-aid on Carmelo. There is no way he's not taking that extension this summer. I believe that he does want to play in NYC and if the CBA had just one more year on it, he'd test free agency and come here next season but there is no way with the power and leverage the owners have this year that he's leaving that kind of money on the table and risking the uncertainty of a lockout next year.

I think I asked about this elsewhere and got no answer. What exactly to the Lakers and Orlando have to offer? The minimum from LA would be whomever, and the young, but injury plagued Bynum. Are you going to take back Fisher or Blake if you have Collison? Would the Lakers give up Bynum and Odom, and change the essence of what they are as a team, to get a guy coming off a knee injury to play with what they would have left?

If you deal with Orlando and are committed to Collison, what does Orlando really have to offer? Lewis and Carter are cap killers, Nelson would be redundant if you like Collison, Orton is simply not worth taking if you saw the SL, and you are not getting Howard.

All things considered, I think that the Knicks actually have more players NO might want at this time than Orlando or the Lakers. Portland would be more of a threat if they threw their name into the hat, more so than the Nyets, IMO.

Come on now, let's not be such homers.
LA and Orlando are loaded teams. I'm sure they can come up with a package.
Lakers trade could feature Odom or Artest for example.

Gallinari spoke with Newsday last night from Milan, Italy, to talk about the busy offseason for the Knicks and for him. He has been in his home country since the season ended in April working on critical, physical aspects of his game, such as explosion, quickness and flexibility. The 6-10 forward, who also continues to strengthen his core muscles to protect his surgically repaired back, also has focused on developing a low-post game.

Good to hear- I was pretty shocked when I saw that video that someone posted of Gallo's highlights in europe- the way he moved and played was nothing like the NY version- I really hope he can regain the speed, fluidity and athleticism he used to have, as last year, although he played well, he moved kind of geeky and stiffly, like he was always trying to safeguard his back. Plus as the season wore on he got a bit chubby- I know a lot of people said he needed to bulk up, but if he's playing SF then I think he could do without some of that extra weight, especially if a lightler Gallo can move more like he used to in europe. Still, it goes to show what a good player he is in that he managed to be so effective when it seemed to be a largely new style of play and movement for him- very impressive.

Would be hard but NO!

CP3 is great but Gallo has greatness written all over him!!

Love Randolphs game but think we will be better off starting a package with him!(LSU so he will feel at home)

Can't even picture Gallo becoming a superstar anywhere but with the Knicks!!

Easily can be traded by deadline and sign extension with his new team!!

If he signs now he loses all his leverage

not trying to be a homer, but i think paladin has a point about orlando and LA.. new orleans doesn't want back salary. i'm not saying they want a straight salary dump, they'd prefer a guy with an expiring contract and anyone that LA or orlando send over is going to have a multiyear semi-big money deal.

I agree with your assessment on our assets

Portland and nets have no Superstar to play with

Roy is nice as is Aldridge not top 15 in L though

Nets best player is Brook Lopez and he ain't top 30

Amare factor is what we have going for us ........Can't state how great a position we are in
Young team loaded with talent and cap space for 2 more years!!!!!!!!.........

Bravo Donnie

You know what I like? Felton played 78 games last year, no major injuries. I also like that he's a physical defender and that we have time to look at what we've brought in so far. JUST SAY NO!! to CP3
