Looks like a very crafty classical PG- surprised that EVERYONE (meaning the 30 NBA teams), not just the Knicks, missed him on draft night.

Briggs- I know you mentioned him prior to the draft- its just that the Knicks have not yet tendered you an offer to become their GM.

Not prior to draft 6 months before

i mean, he is a good find 6 months prior to the draft. But come on man, so intellectual honesty here, you also said just prior to the draft that you didn't see him getting drafted (or flat out wouldn't draft him) cause of lack of athleticism.

No I said I wouldnt use pick 38+39 on him. And believe me I would not have--I wouldve traded the picks and moved into round 1 and I think it couldve been accomplished--I wouldve cared less about 600k in salary cap. They were smoking a pipe dream and hell they mustve known that. What i said about Lin is we can pick him up with a 50--he didnt play well enough to warrant 38 the 2nd half of the year--why spend 100 bucks when you can spend 50??? that is how the draft works

veddy interesting

Don't recall him being on the MSG draft prospects page- which would put out some glowing comments about each player we were working out:
http://www.nba.com/knicks/draft/prospectscentral.html Another reason why I was surprised about the Landry Fields pick, by the way, and less so about Rautins.

I assume that we went to a few workouts where there were more than one team present- I read that we saw Hobson at a non-Knicks workout and came away impressed with him.

Could we be the "Eastern Conference" team he is talking to at this point? I tend not to think so, but who knows.

Thank you for the edifying information regarding this matter, though.

We're the only Eastern Division team he worked out for that he specifically listed. Maybe there is a chance of Lin signing here. His chances of playing are much greater here than Dallas(Kidd, Barea, Beaubois, Jason Terry) or Lakers (Derek Fisher and Steve Blake)

Did not think about the fact that Dallas had so many people he would compete against.

I thought I read that if he went to Dallas he might end up on a DL team they seem to be sponsoring.

Hey, maybe we can steal him.

Dolan can feature him in a 1/2 hour special on MSG, highlighting the important contribution of Asian-Americans to the U.S., then he can make his decision on the air to bring his talent to the Garden.

Palladin55 - forget the typical "sources" and limited research of the lazy beat writers. Remember, while everyone was parroting rumors on Lebron, not one "source" reported the Mozgov workout in May.

With that said, Lin would be a perfect fit with Stanfords Landry Fields on the all-academic, underdog, ready to rumble, United Nations Knicks

Donnie makes him an offer he can't refuse

J Kidd
JJ Barea
R Beaubois

Where is there any room for J Lin?

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

And I think they have Calethes overseas as well, as another poster mentioned.

Marv - nah. The debate over East Coast vs West Coast in the maturation, matriculation and manifestation of the rap game

Lin would be a significant upgrade over Nate on the "who do you trust?" scale

Make it so... and give Lin uni number 3 or number 11

Yeah that would be a nice coronation with J starks handing off #3 to Mr Lin. Nice gritty athletic smart tough kid who can get things done. Forget LBJ to NY--Lin has a billion fans watching.

I'd love to see John Wall on the Knicks on days.. I found an interview with him here: http://www.msg.com/blogs/tina-cervasio/interviews-at-summer-league-in-las-vegas-1.46407 and he really has his head in the game..
I don't think there will be a problem unless somebody wants to make a problem, ... If they really want to make a problem, they're going to have to make a decision about how they want to spend their adult life in terms of playing in the NBA or not.
