I don't think we have a legit 2G on this team and I think Walsh is searching for one.

I don't know that Rudy is the answer but I think he'd fit nicely with Felton, Gallo, Amare and Randolph.

If TD wasn't so short, he would be an excellent 2g, but at his height, and despite being an above avg defender, they simple will abuse him.

Dear Bip,

I send you this letter with great admiration for your posting skills. Therefore, I felt I had to bring this issue to your attention. There have been many events that have occured, over the years, ever since we first encountered eachother on the MSG message boards. For example, I remember the race wars you had with metfankev. I have to let you know something. Metfankev is really nyk4ever. There's something that's also equally, if not more deep. Remember a poster by the name of BoBo? He started that Tim Duncan thread and claimed to be you, and therefore, everybody believed it. That was also nyk4ever, trying to make you fade into Bolivian.

Now, there's a couple of other pieces of information that I could give you, but I'll only tell you one more. Do you remember a basketball player by the name of Howard Eisley? He was a "point guard" and he wore number 4. Remember the pain and anguish he made you go through. Just remember, he was also traded for STEPHON MARBURY. That was the only contract he could not be traded for. He couldn't even be traded for Kevin Garnett, as I told you would happen. Well, Bip, nyk4ever is Howard Eisleys agent.

Anyway, I'm not the type to spill other peoples dirty laundry. I'm just calling it the way I see it. I wish you all the luck in the world Bip.

PS: nyk4ever also forced Martin and Andrew to reset your post count. All the way down to ZERO. How does that make you feel Bip?

i agree totally... i don't get the fascination w/2nd string guys on other teams like Lienas Kleiza, Marcin Gortat, Sergio Rodriguez, etc.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

In the case of Gortat,I think he's a good player stuck in a bad situation.

He has similar talents to Dwight Howard in that he is also primarily a defensive center and has no outside shooting game. Obviously Howard's low post game is better but not really all that great either. Which is why starting both as a front line wouldn't make much sense. Howard is a DPOY but I don't know if he'll ever be an MVP candidate.

I think Gortat would be solid as a starter. He certainly is no Jerome James.

Maybe we can have this conversation when Rudy Fernandez puts up 15/5, plays D and shoots 46%.

In the end of the day you probably hold onto Chandler because Auzibuke is coming off a horrible injury & may miss the beginning of the season and Anthony Randolph, while very talented, is injury prone. Having some quality depth at the 2/3 positions is very important right now so holding on to Wilson is probably the right move..But let's not dismiss Rudy Fernandez's talent level in the process. Come on. When right, Rudy's a very talented/very athletic big guard with smarts that can shoot it, pass it & handle it very well. I can see how people can question Rudy's back, his ability to stay healthy, his skinny body, etc. but I can't see how anyone can question this guy's skill level when he's fully healthy. I think you consider yourself lucky if you can land a guy with Rudy's perimeter game and overall skill package.

Portland has a ton of 2s & 3s on that team now starting with Brandon Roy who's the anchor of that team. Now they might be close to bringing in another one --- they just signed Wes Matthews to a pretty substantial offer sheet on 7/10, 5 yrs. $34M. The Jazz now have 7 days to match. Utah just lost Kyle Korver to the Bulls in FA so they might be forced to sign that offer sheet but if they don't, Portland will add yet another wing to the mix. We'll have to see what happens here but my gut tells me that Rudy will be on the move shortly, with or w/o the team adding Matthews.
