I have high hopes for Felton too- though he does look slightly chubby/ out of shape- hopefully the trainers will get his weight down a little bit so he's ready to run more in this system, like they've done with Bill Walker.

A defensive, pass first PG? Fast and strong.

This sounds like a young Clyde Frazier.

If he can get 14/7 with LB, can 20/10 be impossible in this system?

I like the team that DW is building. It takes some luck but if AR and Felton pay off, then this team as constructed will make some noise. AR is the real question mark at this point, Felton can be the next Nash if he works on his outside shot.

yes!

whenever i made a non-bron plan for this team, felton was a part of it. i think he's going to be at the least truly solid and maybe blossom into a something special here.

you did. You have always been high on Felton. I hope he blossoms here. He's got a shot for sure. If he blows up you get props bigtime man. For a reasonable 3 year contract the worst case is we get the solid player that Cha had. Best case is our PG freeing coach turns loose a pitbull who was just tied to a yard that was way too small.

you look at Felton, AR, Azu, Turiaf, Tima.. all very cost effective guys with great upside

theres not much to dislike about felton. i know ive said it before but if you watched felton play at unc a few years ago, you saw a player who looked like a sure-fire top5 nba pg take his team to a national championship.. he ate up opposing pg's with his speed. alot of it was due to the style that roy williams employed and now coming to the knicks he'll be back in his comfort zone and out of the ball-control larry brown system. he's not the 100% shoe-in that steve nash is in this system, but he's pretty damn close.

one other thing i love that fish posted earlier was the quote from larry brown when donnie tried to acquire felton:

"I can't trade his heart"

this is what you want to hear from a guy who KNOWS pg.

Raymond Felton has all the talents to thrive here under Mike D'Antoni. If he can continue to shoot 46% from the field and 39% from three, I can easily see him becoming one of the corner stones of this franchise. He has a little Tim Hardaway in his game.

exactly. Also Walsh has a great record, maybe one of the best in the NBA at pegging value of NBA talent. His drafting is OK, nothing to write home about, but his career has been marked by getting amazing value in trades. He seems to really understand NBA value. I think the only bad contract he ever gave out was Austin Croshere. The guy seems to really scout NBA talent as well as anyone. Looking forward to watching this group. Going to be a nice treat come November

DW did exactly what I expected in that he found players his coach can win with! The bigs are a great balance of what MDA wants and what DW knows we need. MDA wants versatile smart bigs that won't bog down his offense and DW knows we need tough rebounding n defense. He split those ideals very well.

me too.. when's the last time we could say that?

say whatever you want about donnie landing lebron or not - he swung and missed but he knew he had more at-bats left and he's used them very wisely.
