Van Horn has been playing great recently and seems to be getting along okay with Marbury. Should the Knicks still try to trade him or not? Why?

This team to be good needs for players and coaches to get second and third chances and succeed.

Spree done messed up good and we took him in.

Zeke got fired, we took him in.

Wilkens was fired, we took him in.

Marbury now on his fourth team and has some issues (real or percieved), we took him in.

KVH when healthy has played excellent. We should rally around this guy and praise his contribution, and continue to hope his elevation continues.

So what he's not "cool". He may be a dork, but he's our dork.

Its just the dam socks!

The title of this thread should be "When will the Knicks trade Van Horn?"...

It's definitely not a secret that he is about to be moved. I have alot of faith in what Isiah will get us in return. Hopefully it will be a star-caliber player who can give us what we need on offense and defense in the post. That player should also be able to solidly defend man-to-man as well.

Damn, I am anxious for this to go down... I can't wait!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

'Core,

how do you trade KVH, his rep, and his contract for a "star caliber" player?

Package him with #####?

I would love to see Rahim for KVH and Frank Wil.

I don't object to him being traded, its just a question of what else do we have to give up to move him.

Well the Sheed deal on the table originally was KVH, OH & Doleac for Sheed. I later read that Isiah sweetened the deal (literally) by replacing Doleac with Sweetney. The numbers work with either player.

By the way... A trade involving for Shareef for KVH, straight up, can happen (Trade ID number 1428796). I am not sold on Shareef. IMO I wouldn't do this deal.

They should definitely trade KVH for a SOLID POST-UP 4 OR RASHEED.

I am sorry if you think KVH is btter then Rasheed then you are nucken futs!!! Look at the type of person Rasheed is...they know they aint going anywhere in Portland, do you think his dip in numbers/play is because he's getting worse? He is what 27 years old now? He just don't give a F*ck, that's why he just plays the perimeter right now and you never see him in the paint going up strong. Coincidence?

There are few cities that really command respect in terms of basketball and NYC has regained that recently, Rasheed in NYC would be a MONSTER!

I'm with Nalod on the 'cool' issue. Outscoring your opponent is cool in my book. KVH is not going to fetch a quality big man in a trade, so let's drop that, and enjoy the fact that he isn't the weak link. We need a center!

IMO KVH is as good as gone...

Chad Ford writes:

sure sounds like Keith Van Horn's days in New York are numbered. Isiah Thomas keeps talking about landing an athletic forward to run with Stephon Marbury -- a not so subtle dig at Van Horn. The question is whether Thomas can get someone to take on the last two years, and $30 million of Van Horn's contract. Thomas has tried to convince Portland and Cleveland to take him, to no avail. Is there someone else out there that wants Van Horn? Conventional wisdom says no. The irony, however, is that Van Horn has been money ever since Isiah took over. He's averaging 18.8 ppg, 7.4 rpg on 49 percent shooting in just over 32 mpg since Thomas was hired. Those aren't shabby numbers. With the Knicks on a nice four game winning streak, does Thomas really want to start rocking the boat?
"I still think, ideally, [in a] fantasy world, you would still like to get more athletic and go out and acquire the best talent," Thomas told the N.Y. Daily News. "I would like for us to become a much more athletic team, a quicker team. A better reacting team."

If we can pry Kerilenko from Utah and eat a bad contract from them, I say bye bye Keith.

Utah has 12 Million in salary next year....I don't think they have any bad contracts....nor do they need any taken off their hands.

After I read this, I know KVH is going to get traded:

"...our players demand that I try to keep improving the team to be the best. Until you're the best, you're always trying to improve."

-Isiah Thomas

Believe it that certain players who have open communication with Zeke are giving their opinions about who nees to go, and why. Zeke's listening and taking it under consideration, too.

IMO a trade will be made within the next week or two. More than likely, KVH will be a part of that deal.
