You create the aura and you carry yourself a certain way and if you don't measure up to the hype that you have created for yourself you have to step back, rebrand yourself, or you are a hypocrite. He and his people have a lot of control over how he markets himself- I just don't want to see the same crap coming from him anymore, and I don't want to hear any announcers calling him "King James" for hitting a shot in some meaningless game.
Come clean and begin to compete as a true athlete and as a man, without the BS pomp and circumstance, and he may rehabilitate his rep, but I doubt that this egomaniac has that ability.
He is not only a coward but he is a hypocrite.
