I feel good about the roster. No Wade or LeBron is a shame, but that looks to have been outside the realm of our control for some time, probably all the way back to the Olympics. If you believe LeBron hadn't made up his mind the morning of The Decision then, well, you probably believe Wade's schtick about "sacrificing."
What was so depressing of the Knicks of recent years is that it was a roster packed full of over-paid veterans who never seemed thrilled to be in the Garden (save for a few). Now, at least, we have some young, talented guys, an All-Star who seems to be legitimately happy to be here and some optimism thanks to salary cap flexibility.
Much more needs to be done, for sure, but all my favorite Knicks moments have stemmed from them being gritty, scrappy underdogs, from the 1999 run to the wars with the Bulls, Pacers and, yes Heat.
