we already were in position to sign a max free agent b4 the deal..that deal alowed us to bid on 2 max fa..so amare would be here with the other assets i mentioned..good tradeable assets..and yes ooh u too didnt like the trade..i did mention that me and tms were some of the only ( and u 2 ooh) that didnt like the trade

You have to do a lot more back tracking. Go back and check this forum for the last 6 months. This trade and D'Antoni were two of the biggest topics. I don't remember you trashing the Hill trade but I spent way too much of my free time worrying and then regretting another Knick blunder.

Not even mentioning the fact that Amare wouldn't have signed here if we were capped out, do you think Jordan Hill and a first rounder would have gotten us AR, turiaf and KA? Plus more if we choose to use the remaining capspace? No, it wouldn't have, because caproom is more valuable then those assets, LeBron or no LeBron. And my proof is that we just made that trade. For just capspace.

Solid, hardworking players or young explosive talent instead of flashy tweeners and heavy centers. Sure if you want you can weep and moan and convince yourself that it will all go to hell in a handbasket when Amare goes blind, AR breaks his arm, Gallo stiffens up, KA breaks his ankle and Turiaf ends up in the OR again but I choose to see this team as potentially very good.

It's easy to complain about every little thing and it's your right to do so. But I have to say oohah that you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel to complain about the position were in right now. A few years ago our cap was over 100 mill and a good off season for us was Zach Randolph. We just picked up 3 cheap young talented players and a 6 time all-star. Your starting to run out of things to moan about methinks. Bizatching about losing a first rounder and Jordan Hill is just bizatching for bizatchings sake.

Sorry dude I am not a pessimist.Try a realist. I just prefer to live in reality. Spin it any way you want. The Knicks sucked for 2 years and moved all of their assets. They lost, we lost. Anthony Randolph and Stoudemire are not going to make the Knicks contenders in the conference let alone the NBA.

So no, I am not scraping the bottom of the barrel. I am calling it like it is. If we want to use metaphors you are playing the fiddle while Rome is burning.

If you think this is a good team I think you need to take a look at the rosters and assets/prospects of the other teams in the conference, then get back to me.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

You guys keep repeating we already had room to sign one FA like it means something. What effing FA was gonna sign with us knowing we had what we had plus Jordan Hill and that we would be over the cap again when signed here?

I would argue with you description of yourself and would respectfully suggest you check your real motives because you just sound angry. I reckon if LeBron would have signed here you would have still found something to complain about. Moving on.

This thread is about the Tmac trade. You're saying Amare and AR doesn't make us a good team and I wont argue with you as we haven't seen how it works out. But in terms of the Tmac trade, I know I'd prefer to have AR, Turiaf and KA over Hill and a first rounder. Those assets plus JJ would never have gotten us what we got for pure capspace because capspace is more valuable around the league. That's why it was a good trade, whether we got LeBron or not. We could only have signed and traded Lee if we had 2 max spots otherwise we would have had to renounce his rights for Amare.

Here we go again.

Carmelo Anthony is using us to get Denver to step up the talent around him. We need to stop this.

I would respectfully suggest that you have been relentlessly positive in the face of the grim reality for the past couple of seasons and that you are now lashing out with nonsense. I wouold suspect that up until a couple of hours ago you were all about LeBron - just as this plan always was - and now you are whistling a different tune. Moving on now...

Okay, see how that works out. I think it was a bad trade that won't reap much reward at all if any and the Knicks gave Houston an okay player and the chance at 2 pretty good first round picks.

And when I state my opinion, my realistic opinion when the Rockets draft some nice players and the Knicks are assed out again, will you criticize me personally once more? Or will you have moved onto the next "silver lining" in the Knicks cloud of failure? When will it be time to admit things are being run badly?

that and billups got him outta round 1. that is a huge flag to me. he kinda seems to need on court leaders to guide him, and a coach who can needle him. we **may** have the coach, we dont have many leaders yet.

the tmac trade only cleared about $7m of cap space...fishlips is now a valuable asset cause his contract is expiring after this season..also amare did not have many options because of health and insurability concerns and the knicks were the only team to offer him max money

We don't have the coach but I like the roster. I think D'Antoni will show how lucky he was that he had the privilege to coach Steve Nash. I think the next coach will have a lot of success if the Knicks show some patience with Randolph and the other young guys.
