Not only did D Lee work to improve his game each year, he also continued to play through some of the disappointing, embarrassing season in this franchise's history. He is a true professional whether he was awkwardly manning the small forward position or banging bigger bodies at center.

wow another old timer.

lol...yea, grad school kept me away but I looked in once in a while to keep up with what was going on. I suppose with the way things have been since the Larry Brown situation, it would have been masochistic to get sucked back into all this drama. Grad school's depressing enough!!! I do see a lot of the old personalities are still around. A couple of active people who where here a lot back then aren't. And then that one dude who hates everything. :D same old UK

The thing I don't get is why Golden State? He would have fit nicely on the Bulls (pre boozer), Nets. Why go to Golden State where you have a good chance at continuing the losing?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think this is Golden State's first All Star since 1997 or something like that... a match of desperation

The Lone Knick?

"I'll always appreciate that he was the lone Knick that actively tried to get better every year. That's really a testament to his character, yadda, yadda..."

SupremeCommander - you don't think Wilson Chandler has worked to improve his game every year?

Check the stats

Let me rephrase: The lone Knick that has been here *for the entirety of this franchise's worst years* that has worked to improve his game every year

yes, Wilson has improved. I meant no disrespect to our honorable mayor

I can see David Lee putting up serious stats this year.

Golden State:
- Runs the same fast paced system
- Lee will have Curry stretching the defense and giving him sweet passes
- Lee will play his natural position at PF
- Lee will play next to a defensive C

Seems like no brainer for Golden State considering who they drafted this year. Only person of value they gave up was Randolph.

Great guy. Great player. Wish we could have incorporated him into this rebuild. If only he played D he would be a Knick still.

Good luck in Cally. Gonna miss your grit and intelligence.

SupremeC - I will dearly miss David Lee. He came out of nowhere on draft night, "who's he?" to win our respect and our hearts.

Standing ovation when he returns to The Garden

Lee will wave to the crowd, get a hug from The Mayor, and it will only get louder

Very happy to see The Doorman gone. David Lee was by far the worst defensive player I've ever seen. But good luck in Golden State.

iSergio - your lack of class is not appealing

David Lee did the absolute best he could playing out of position at center

which is much more than I can say about the lazy effort that goes into your writing

Don't be an a-hole. If you want to bash him, make a different thread.

I guess it's incredibly tough to appreciate a player who simply tried hard and did his best, with really no supporting cast. David Lee is a true Knick. It's unfortunate that our future plans won't be able to include him. Sometimes you just respect the players for what they did and what they tried to do, when they gave it their all.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Lack of class? I wished him good luck.

And David Lee WAS a terrible, no effort, soft defender. It had nothing to do with playing Center.

I wish Lee well and thank him for his efforts as a Knick. I respect him as a person and player.
That said, I am very happy that he is no longer a Knick, and that I will not be hearing much about him in the future. Personally I'm glad he's going to Cali and not sticking in the area. I've had enough Lee in my basketball consciousness.
Again maximum respect and best wishes, but I'm happy with the parting of ways.
