![]() martin wrote:^ and one VERY good note about the 2011 salary numbers, Ronny Turiaf deal is Player Option, and at $4M, you KNOW he is gonna opt out. really? is he that sought after? maybe he'll go be the muscle man for the miami divas? ¿ △ ?

Pretty impressive, although some of that $$ will be eaten if we sign a PG to more than a 1 year deal. Then, if James does not come here, we just have to hope that Anthony decides not to take the extension. No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Or you play it cool and sign only one of them, and probably have enough for both Parker and Melo? |

![]() I was thinking that Parker would cost $12-14M per year and Carmelo the max-- so that's a good $30M commitments for the PG and SF spots (assuming Gallo continues to bulk into a 4, otherwise Melo plays the 2)... I wouldn't do too much with Ridnour or Miller because I don't think either of them are exceptional... I'd rather use this season to absorb 1 year contracts and young talent/draft picks.

![]() Flip Saunders was wrapping up his press conference prior to the game in Orlando when asked about Shaun. Immediately, he brightened up and started praising his starting point guard.
"He's solidified our point guard spot because he has a high basketball intelligence. He really initiates our offense because he creates mismatches. I mean, 6'2, 6'3, and 6'4 guys have problems guarding him because he's 6'8 and he's long. He can get down there and shoot over people. The other thing is, he's been a great free throw shooter, I think he's only missed one free throw all year. When you put all of those things together, he becomes very (important). Our game is so much about being able to create a mismatch somewhere and so when you have him on the floor, you have an automatic mismatch and the other team has to decide if they're going to come trap or do something different," gushes Saunders. ![]() Yea, if you watch those clips he's being guarded by Jameer Nelson in a few of them and he just backs him down, gets a double, and then dishes. He can run the break, he's got a great handle, and is truly a pass-first point. I think he'd be a top PG in the NBA had he not been hurt a few years back.
He's still got a ton of upside if he gets lucky with the health. I don't see the risk of signing, he'll come cheap and the upside is great. That being said I would give him a 3yr deal but with years 2 and 3 as team options. If he gets hurt I don't want him taking up a few mil in cap room. Maybe team option on year 2 and player option on year 3? BRIGGS strikes again. #Knickstaps

![]() I have no problem adding him and overpaying in year 1, with a team option in year 2.

![]() I guess it is agreed that Walsh needs to sign Livingston. If it stops the Ray Felton talk, I am on board.

To me that just spending to spend. We have Douglas and Rautins--bring in Livingston at a palatable contract in terms of YEARS 2-3 at 3mm or so--to me he fits what we have going and if it fails it can be swept under the rug--taking on felton for 8mm for 5 or Ridnour 30mm for 5 is something that will eat our cap when we may need it down the road. ![]() He's 6'8 with a 6'11 wingspan. He had a very solid finish last year.
We are really thin at PG/SG right now. We have Douglas who I love, but doesnt look ready to run a team. Rautins isnt an NBA player until proven. Walker and Azu can play SG but are either starters? I would really look hard into getting Darren Collison as plan A. If there is no option there then Livingston is a great plan B. I dont know what his market is. Maybe $6mm with a $7mm team option for year 2? "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Any stuff on his D, Briggs. Is he able to deal with small PGs? We would have some amazing length on this team if we picked him up. We would be fielding a starting team with every player being over 6'8." Only Gallo can hit the 3 in a lineup of Livingson though, and to be honest, none of the guys in the above line-up are superior players with their back to the basket. I have said this before, I really think that if we have our choice of Livingston, Felton, and Ridnour, MDA will have the final say on who we sign. The PG pick-up is his call.
