how would a S&T between CLE and TOR work logistically... would the trade have to be within 25% of each other salary wise cause both teams would be over the cap? Makes it MUCH harder I would think.

jamison + west (expiring) + parker (expiring) + telfair (expiring) + hickson = 25.2 mil

bosh (at max) + hedo = 26 mil

You do realize this is a **** block move right? They could literally take back warm expiring bodies. Cleveland getting Bosh opens up a whole other issue of Jamison now being expendable.

toronto is doing this to keep james in cleveland and build a superpower there?

okay... i mean... i don't really buy it.

why not try to work the houston angle?

Houston wants to send back some NON-Expiring contracts which is a no no.

what NON-Expiring contracts are CLE sending to TOR? They are in the same spot as CLE.

West, Parker, Telfair, and Hickson. You forget the 125% rule for teams over the cap.

OK, that's $9M to Bosh's $17M. 125% of the $9M = $11.25... what's next?

Yes, exactly. I don't know what Toronto would want in return, but it seems like a dumb move unless there's some valuable piece there that we didn't notice.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Yeah, they can do this. I don't see why Toronto would want Jamison, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

I forgot Moon whose deal is only partially guaranteed for 2011-12. So if you factor in Wests deal is partially guaranteed for 2010-11 it all breaks out even for Toronto.

Obviously this is assuming no 3rd team gets involved.

That would absolutely be stupid on Colangelo's part. He would be doing no one favors with a deal with Cavs. The Cavs roster has nothing you would want from it. All he would be doing is setting the Raptors back. He will walk away from this. Its just Broussard making shyt up.

The only way the Raptors do this is out of spite for us. Any other way it makes no sense. Houston ha much better assets and they have expirings.

i can see initially it being a questionable deal.

but look at it this way:

trade jamison for bosh (S&T) - gives us a $4 mil TPE and jamison expires next summer
trade parker + telfair + delonte + hickson for hedo - gives us $10 mil in expring - of which delonte is only partially guaranteed which they can either cut to save salary or use in a deal to save a team some luxury tax...as well as hickson (who alot of folks wanted last deadline) to keep or flip to a team needing a big like denver (possibly for ty lawson).

yes, it's not optimal but those expirings could be flipped in a later deal. it's all about asset allocation and $$$ savings long term. better than letting him walk for nothing.

but i still think it's a rumor leaked to get chicago and miami to up their offers...

this has nothing to do with the knicks...

Why would Lebron want to play with Bosh in chi knowing Bosh would get 6 years guaranteed and he wouldn't? If its about sending Bosh to Miami why is Lebron waiting to sign with us?

By us signing Amar'e, we stirred the pot and the other teams are now scrambling to try to get something done. If this rumor is true, if Bosh goes to Cleveland then I think Wade will sign with the Knicks as we offer the best opportunity to win.

Word. I think it's Colangelo playing the only fool in the media willing to participate: Broussard. You know, I really can't stand that guy. Makes Berman look like an actual talent. CB can go F himself.

I don't think Wade wants to play with Rose due to the similarity in their games. I think when it comes to complementary players, NY has a lot more to offer Wade. Lots of professional athletes live away from their families during the season. And he would get ample opportunities to visit them in-season during road games in Chicago.

I doubt Colangelo wants Lebron in the same division as Toronto.

This reminds me of when Memphis signed Darius Miles to screw up Portlands cap space.

No, because you need 2 superstars to really have a chance of winning it all. I like Lee a lot, but he won't make the Big difference. And Rose will take ball possessions from Wade who needs a pass first PG. Wade needs Bosh and if Bosh goes to Cleveland, then his best alternative is Amar'e. Wade signs with us.

And then see one of Noah/Rose leave when the owner refuses to pay for them both next year, while we'll be looking to add Melo to STAT. And/or be trading for the likes of Parker.
