Swishfm3 - your analysis of Mike D'Antonis offensive system should be rethought, reconsidered and revised immediately

in the meantime, I invite you to submit the name of the head coach you prefer for the Knicks

Yes! on his 9500th post misterearl lets LOOSE with the cussin'. i'm telling you friends, things are at a dang FEVER PITCH here at uk headquarters!

The Answer Man Paces The Floor Like An Expectant Father

Marv - I don't know about you bro, but I'm excited, cautious, on edge, and hopeful all at the same time

What a great moment to be a Knicks fan, huh?

(from the NYTimes)

Reached on the telephone Tuesday, Spike Lee sounded more like a cautious insider not wanting to jinx something good about to happen more than the normally loquacious director who for decades has enjoyed communing with reporters. “I can’t talk until all the signings are done,” he said.

Asked if that meant more signings are imminent after Amar’e Stoudemire agreed with the Knicks on a five-year contract worth just under $100 million, Lee repeated himself. “Can’t talk until it’s all done,” he said.

from New York Times:

When Spike Lee isn’t talking, you know the Knicks must be convinced they are still playing in the high-stakes game of free agent poker for LeBron James or Dwyane Wade, with the growing hope they are holding a winning hand.

Reached on the telephone Tuesday, Lee sounded more like a cautious insider not wanting to jinx something good about to happen more than the normally loquacious director who for decades has enjoyed communing with reporters. “I can’t talk until all the signings are done,” he said.

Asked if that meant more signings are imminent after Amar’e Stoudemire agreed with the Knicks on a five-year contract worth just under $100 million, Lee repeated himself. “Can’t talk until it’s all done,” he said.

How much Lee actually knows is unknown but he was at the Knicks’ dinner with Stoudemire Monday night, along with Chris Rock. A photo of the group was quickly circulated via Twitter by Allan Houston and has circulated on the Web, no doubt a reminder to James and Wade that the Knicks have the iconic star power to match the New Jersey Nets’ shareholder and James pal Jay-Z.

While a rabid Knicks fan going back to his youth — Lee says he was at Game 7 of the 1970 finals as a 12-year-old when the Knicks won the first of two championships — Lee has long had relationships with the most celebrated of N.B.A. stars, beginning with Michael Jordan, who appeared with Lee in Jordan’s early Nike commercials.

Can the Lee-Rock connection help the Knicks and Stoudemire land James or Wade and make this free-agent season a resounding success and turning point in Knicks history?

Who's it gonna be?

So, just for discussion purposes, assume it is Dwyane Wade. This year the Knicks have:

Pg: Wade
Sg: Chandler
Sf: Gallo
Pf: Amare
C:

Next year, they have a legit shot at replacing Chandler with Melo:

Pg: Wade
Sg: Melo
Sf: Gallo
Pf: Amare
C:

If you run it back with Lebron:

Pg:
Sg: Chandler
Sf: Lebron
Pf: Gallo
C: Amare

and with Melo the next year:

Pg:
Sg: Melo
Sf: Lebron
Pf: Gallo
C: Amare

I wouldn't be upset with either scenario, but I kind of like the Wade/Melo/Amare scenario better than the James/Melo/Amare scenario. Either way, the question starts to become what position Gallo can play. He could be the deadliest SG in the league if he isn't a liability on defense.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I suspect Spike Lee might know about some pending trades we have assuming we miss out of Lebron.

Swishfm3 - who do you want as "real" head coach of the Knicks?

ANYone whose offensive play book contains more than just running up the court, as fast as you can, and shoot the ball in seven seconds.....or less.

if that's your understanding, you need to go back to school.

Maybe I should have added a cool internet tag like [/sarcasm] at the end?

regardless, at the beginning of the season, MDA had the Knicks run down and whoever had a open look at the basket took the shot. It wasn't until later in the season, when he finally realized he didnt have any outside shooters, that he slowed it down and started running some set plays.

And to answer Misterearl...who would I like to see thats available? I honestly would not mind seeing Lenny Wilkins coach this team.

The Answer Man Washes His Mouth With Soap And Calls The Shot

It is a great day to be a Knicks fan. The crystal basketball is changing from blue to orange and glowing mysteriously

On Wednesday the free agent sequel will start to unravel. On Thursday all heck will break loose. You heard it here first.

Lenny Wilkins was the coach with the best results that we had during the Isiah era. Whether that's an accomplishment or just simply regrettable, I don't know.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

lebron to stoudemire pick and roll with douglas, Walker, and Gallo spreading out the floor. that's basically 3 40% 3 pt shooters. I like that offense.
