By the way NJ vs Philly is on NBA.com in a few minutes

Forget Stephenson, who is probably better off not playing in NYC.

The most important debut yesterday was Holiday/Turner, which may become the dominant backcourt in the NBA over the next decade.

In 2003 we drafted a European big named Lampe with the first pick of the 2nd round. He was supposed to go earlier and some thought we had a steal. He had a great summer league that year. Where is he now?

Winning championships.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

At least that's what espn and the post said right?

Stephenson showcased his game today. Very proud...kamala and D3 were impressed also.

Another note Patrick Ewing Jr played and was another standout

Nah, the entire Knicks scouting staff neglected all available research and passed on Lance Stephenson because they were friending new people on facebook.

Same approach they took last year when they passed on that kid that went to the Bucks...what was his name again?

The kid's name was Holiday, and he plays in Philly.

I know. I'm getting older, but I'm not at the point where every day really is a new day just yet.

My point. We should have taken Holiday. He will end up being better than Jennings.

Philly's backcourt will be wicked in a few years.

no doubt, Turner & Holiday got big potential that's for sure... both kids seem like they're hard workers too & aren't the type to get all diva on anyone... not sure if Holiday is a better prospect than Jennings tho.

Holliday looks better every time I see him.. Evan turner, not so sure about him yet, but the kid can play.. Not sure of what type of player you are going to get here.... he is not really tall or long, not fast, not very athletic and not very big...

As far as Stephenson, though, I think we were looking for players in this draft who could compliment LeBron or Wade.

With James at the point, you want intelligent players surrounding him and enough shooters to open up the floor. Rautins can shoot, no question about that aspect of his game, and even if he has trouble with the PG position, you can always use a great shooter. Fields is just an intelligent, all around player, who, if you read the DraftExpress write-up of his Portsmith games, does not force things when he plays.

High BB IQ, well rounded games, unselfish, and mature- qualities that allow them to fit in. Hobson and Johnson, two players we did not get, but wanted, are similar players, as was Vasquez, who I think you liked (although his shot is inconsistent).

I would have taken a chance on Torrance, despite the heart issue, by the way. Smart-good size- and he did well in the shooting drills.

Just have to wait to see how our SL guys perform.

I was really hoping we picked up Turner last year. He does just about everything well and is a leader and a gamer.

Turnovers are his issue, from what I know.

With Holiday and Turner playing D the way they can, and with their size, opposition backcourts will not be looking forward to playing them in the future.

if we wanted only high BBALL IQ guys to surround Lebron with we wouldn't have signed Amare, we would have re-signed D Lee... but i get your point on role players & to an extent i agree... still don't agree with the Rautins pick but whatever, i'm not gonna waste too much time crying about a 2nd round pick... hopefully he pans out nicely

Definitely some truth to that, although I think most of us look at PF and C as power oriented positions, and we are more willing to accept a player at those positions even if they are not the sharpest players on a team. For guys who come off the bench for minor minutes, though, you hope that they can fit in and not f--k up things.

We will see. 2nd Rnd picks don't usually make or break a team, though. Rautins might have been a reach- I actually wanted us to pick up Rautins and Wittman after the draft, so I would be lying if I said I was not surprised we took him. And as far as Fields- did not even know he existed.

Just writing as an apologist for the Knicks' brass, I guess.
