Interested to see how Randy Wittman's kid looks.

Warren Carter, Ron Howard, Landry as the "usual suspects." I like Carter last year- I think Landry pushed him out.

I assume that Michael Washington is off the team.

Besides the guys who played with the Knicks last year, and the guys we got in the 2nd Rnd., I'm most interested in seeing Garcia, Wittman, and Lyons play.

The key guy for me will be Jerome Jordan. How good is he now and is he ready to play back-up center on the NBA level?

I can't believe this dude was not drafted. Knicks need to keep him.

Tons of tattoos,
started as a guard and had a David Robinson growth spurt (not sure when),
Junior College transfer (Garcia, a native of Los Angeles, signed with Washington in November 2008 but was denied admission to the school last spring for academic reasons, though he was eligible by NCAA standards.),
great start with Seattle-less than great finish,
1/4 assist/turnover ratio,
compared by some to Lamar Odoms,
unquestioned talent/questionable BBIQ,
tons of tattoos.
Garcia had long been thought headed toward the draft as his stock rose quickly in November and December with a string of good performances that had some projecting him as a first-rounder.

Garcia cooled a bit later in the year but still ended the regular season averaging 18.7 points and 8.3 rebounds. And at 6 feet 10, his size and ball-handling ability intrigue scouts.

"There may be a handful of players in the country who have as much upside as Charles," Seattle U. coach Cameron Dollar said in the statement. "I am extremely proud of how he has grown and developed throughout the year. Bob Condotta, Seattle Times staff reporter

I'm stoked to see Patrick Ewing Jr. This is good Karma. Hopefully he is healthy. He will make the team. Karma returns... Championship

Good to see him back. I do sometimes wonder why we always keep bringing back some of the same "never was" players year after year though. Is Warren Carter any better now or closer to making the team now than he's been the last 2-3 years? Maybe its time to take a look at someone else?

The reality is a lot of these summer league cats may end up on the roster because we need cheap minimum salary guys.

I've wondered why a number of the same faces return. This isn't a rec league it's supposed to give our young players an early summer tune up mixed in with some walk on players who may or may not show promise enough to bring them to training camp. Maybe the talent pool isn't as deep for SL play as we all think it is. Maybe it's to the point where you still just have to "fill out the roster".

One good thing about bringing in some of the same players as last year is that they know the system, and also the coaches are familiar with the players. There is only 2 days of practice (2 practices/day) before the first game. Not much time for the players to learn the system and to gel as a team.

Warren Carter almost made the team last year and Marcus Landry did. We are not looking for a superstar, just role players who can fill a spot on the roster.

Edit: Anyone know if Earl Barron is on any Summer League team?

we will have 3-4 open roster spots. I would think the summer league is going to be pretty exciting. With all these teams clearing space there are tons of open roster spots. NBA min is what? Just under $500k? Not too shabby

Just caught some of the Utah/Orlando game...Pat Ewing Jr. looks good --- shooting 3s, running the floor...Just looking much more Bill Walker than Marcus Landry out there. He looks improved..

I really like 6'9"/6'10" Ben McCauley who's playing for the Magic's SL team as well. This dude can really play -- mobile big from NC State who really has a nice touch..He really looked good for the Lakers in SL last year but didn't stick and wound up going overseas to play in France..Looked good again in limited mins today..Def. a guy to keep an eye on...In college, this guy was basically the Wolfpack's center where he played close to the basket & instead, 6'9" Brandon Costner (where's this guy btw? He's pretty skilled himself--I don't see his name on any of the SL rosters) was outside on the perimeter...Never got a chance to see McCauley's perimeter game in college but this dude can really shoot it though with nice range..Moves his feet well on D as well -- just shows a real nice feel for the game...I think this dude can play in the NBA...Another guy to keep an eye on..

Charotte/Oklahoma City on right now...

what are your thoughts on ryan wittman bro? he and the rest of cornell had a great year this year and i thought he had some potential when i watched them this year. he's a great shooter but he's not going to wow anyone with his athleticism. i think theres a place for him in the nba though.. will be very interesting to watch him in summer league. he could be another morris almond, i guess we'll see.
