you just said it... titles. If its about that then you look at history and the teams that win titles have the mega stars. Wade, Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, KG, MJ, Hakeem, Isiah... in fact only Larry's Pistons won a title in the last 20+ years WITHOUT a superstar.

So whats our best chance of getting a superstar? Clearing cap space when like 4-5 of them will be FAs? Or the crap shoot of drafting year after year.

the other dudes were arguing how to get that star(s) ie draft, trade, etc. im not. im only into the part of the draft being labeled as too much of a gamble.

huh? not sure why you are coming at me like that... as i noted my point is a subset of what others are talking about (in terms of cost and pain when you fail at it). in no place do i suggest doing nothing.

Sorry wasn't meant to be personal, came out wrong. I reread your posts, think we agree on most of it. But most of the arguments here have been FA OR Drafts not both, with good reason because Lord Isiah made sure we couldn't do both. We could go after FAs only by surrendering draft picks and to me its still the better of the two choices.

no worries... i sure hope it all works. i dont mind any if it can get lbj here, well except a trade for arenas. thats one of the few moves that would be pushing the limits at this point.

If we get Arenas, AnubisADL will be the last fan standing.

loweycue,..u think a 20% chance at a lebron is worth giving up mucho draft picks..id love to play poker with you cause you'd prob. go all in on the river casing a flush which is 23% chance of hitting

Horrible analogy. Giving up drafts picks and betting money are two different things. All your draft picks added together have < 1% chance of turning into a Lebron caliber player. So yes I am happy to make THAT swap.

makes ZERO sense. Poke you get to play again and again. You have one chance at Lebron. Hell... you can go a decade without a chance to sign or draft a player like Lebron.

20% chance to get Lebron is 100% worth giving up one conditional draft pick and Jordan Hill.

I love the guys who think by giving up all these picks (it was one + a swap) that we are sure to missing drafting a star. Going for the flush is better odds than the NBA lottery when it comes to getting great players.

We will have Amare a 5 time all star. We will sign some guys or make some trades. We will probably win 48 games or so and lose in the 2nd round and people here will be crying that we gave up draft picks and thats why we didnt win a title this year.

Ugly, as in calling for Walsh's head. http://ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=35735

Ugly, as in saying our next fa targets are louie amundsen and cj watson http://ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=35734

Ugly, as in what our roster is predicted as looking http://ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=35730

Ugly, as in the next decade being stuck in mediocrity http://ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=32942&page=#682232
