I think the Knicks should go hard after Scola. I think he is just going to get better and I don't think Houston would match especially if they get Bosh.

Now here too...

The Knicks will meet with Mike Miller as free agency begins at 9:01 PM EST local time in Los Angeles.

Joe Johnson will meet with the Knicks shortly thereafter.

Both Miller and Johnson are represented by Arn Tellem.

Miller will meet with the Heat after New York, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

It's just due diligence. After July 1st, we have to make decisions based on who's willing to play in NY. Once it shakes out, Mike Miller may prove to be a logical choice to complement other available players. Best Donnie talk to him when he's available for a meeting, since he may be a part of plan A or B. Maybe there are S&T scenarios forming, or maybe three-team deals. Talking with Miller doesn't mean we won't talk to all the others. You may be putting too much emphasis on the order of meetings. I think it's irrelevant.

We could do worse than have guy who can spread the floor for our P&R, our Lebron to his left, Lebron to his right, dump offs to Amare (or Lee or Bosh), kick outs to Gallo, Walker, shooters yet acquired. I think Chandler and Curry will be gone in the same deal (hopefully for OK4 and Collison, or Parker, somehow). So we could have anything from a solid team to a contender next year. We'll know in a week or less.

oh..houston's getting bosh in a sign and trade using the knicks assets that they stole from donnie walsh..only tms and myself hated that trade..most e1 else went wooho..free more space 4 2 max f/a..gives us flexibilty..they screw up draft choices anyway..well now we can say they screw up free agency as well

Mike Miller is a baller. I'd love to have him on this team. It will probably take 7 to 9 million per to lock him up this summer.

Chandler

Welcome to the forum. Go back and read every thing I have written since Feb. 18. If you think you are the only person that recognized that that move was insane you are mistaken. I also have written that I don't think Walsh gives up that much without a big push from Dolan.

and still be what we have had for a decade... avg to worse. they gotta aim higher, and if the top FAs skip, u gotta pass on making poor financial moves like arenas or any over payment for mediocre talent.

GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

there were several posters who felt the risk was too great without a verbal guarantee from Lebron & Bosh under the table that they were NY bound this summer... i think there were a number of people around here who said Donnie only makes that trade if he already has something worked out under the table, thereby justifying the move... we'll soon find out if he really did have something in hand or not & just took a huge flyer with the future of this franchise with nothing but a blind grasp at straws this summer.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

The Knicks will fly to Cleveland for a 1 p.m. sitdown with LeBron James, league sources told ESPN.com's Chris Broussard on Wednesday night.

New York is first meeting with Mike Miller, Joe Johnson and Amar'e Stoudemire in Los Angeles after midnight on July 1st.

i'm not sure if news leaked of joe johnson signing with hawks for bird right max and the knicks are trying to save face with "we have been interested in miller all along." (or it could be miller's agent trying to boost his value 4 hours before midnight).

regardless i love this, career 41% shooter from 3, 23rd all time in career percentage. will turn 31 in february, so 1.5 yrs older than johnson. misses about 10-15 games a year. only played 54 games last yr but shot 48% from deep for the season. he's 6'8", him and gallo on the floor either pulling bigs away from the hoop or they have a big size advantage, that is a mismatch if there is somebody creating shots.

miller at 3 yrs $28 mil is a better deal than johnson at the max. SMART MONEY the knicks need to be smart whether they get lebron or not.

in all honesty redick at the right price is definitely worth signing too. if i could get him at 3 yrs 9 mil i'd sign him. you could have 4 40% shooters on the team, offense similar to the magic but without the big. (we need a nash but don't have one, lebron could be that person )

There are lots of free agents the Knicks can go after. Heck, Nate Robinson is a free agent.

Miller is a great fit for the Knicks. He just isn't the first guy they should be meeting with after the two year purge where nothing mattered but this summer.

lebron signing with 2-3 good players at good value instead of another max is almost as good.

knicks have almost 34 million in cap room. lebron at 16 for max. you have 18 left. miller at 8 mil, redick at 5 mil, oberto at 3 mil, roger mason at 2 mil.

PG: Douglas, Mason
SG: Miller, Redick
SF: LEBRON, Chandler, Rautins LOL
PF: Gallo, Landry Fields ROFL
C: Oberto, Barron

still, better than what the cavs had last year. miller, redick, gallinari, douglas would kill it in that offense. mason is a wily vet, you always need one of those, oberto and barron can both run and are better than at least a few C tandems in the NBA. it would be wide open run and gun lets score 120 points/gm.

Yeah...nada Till the 8th can you say 'anti-climatic'?

Bahaha. Team up with Lee and Gallo and...

oh boy, playa would have a field day with "2010: The Year of The Community Free-Agency"

They left Balkman out the summit? So wrong.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
