i think if the Knicks can manage to get Amare landed in the next couple days, our chances of landing Lebron will go up exponentially.

I know I've beaten this up pretty heavily, but imagine if we could trade for Okafor and get one of these other bigs AND LeBron.

That's AT LEAST Douglas, LeBron, Gallo, Amare/Bosh, Okafor. That's pretty damn sweet. I would definitely be going heavily after Amare, especially if these Bosh to Miami rumors are serious.

knicks need to pursue okafor or biedrins for ecurry heavily right now.

i agree with you - if the knicks get amar'e and okafor... bron has to look at them differently.

i'm beginning to think that lebron is really our only chance in FA. i think everyone else is scared to come here without bron.

I also found it funny how many posters said Aware didn't complement Lebron when the deadline trade rumors were going around. Aware is rumored to the knicks and now they are a match. Lol

dude, can you stop posting things you have no idea about? Thanks.

With way that Hawks are coming for Joe Johnson, that'll be over fast. Knicks are in real, real free agent trouble. Amar'e is lukewarm on NY.

i think at this point since we're already all in we gotta go for it all... get Amare signed, make the trade for Okafor if he's on the table & go back to Lebron with that roster... at least then you'll have some surrounding pieces to give him an idea of the type of team he'd be playing with... right now we have nothing but empty promises to offer Lebron... he's not gonna come here unless we have something set in stone to offer other than money & smoothtalk.

From Wojo:The Knicks are hoping Amar'e Stoudemire travels to New York over the weekend for a meeting, but a source says he is unlikely to make it there until Monday.

Stoudemire played for Mike D'Antoni when both were in Phoenix.

i'm not discounting Gallo at all, actually i think he'd make a nice complementary player to Lebron, but he's not gonna be enough to lure him here by himself... we need a bigtime low post scorer to play with him & a defensive minded C... if u can land Amare & Okafor you have 3 of the 5 spots filled on the floor to give Lebron an idea of what he'd be playing with... right now we have nothing but Gallo, Bill Walker, Toney Douglas & Eddy Curry along with two 2nd round picks who he probably never even heard of.

Nobody knows anything...I don't care who it is. Not even their "inner circles"....we'll see and hear what each player thinks as soon as they sign.

Amare is the ultimate finisher/post threat
Bron is the magic Johnson on roids doing everything
Gallo is the "stretch 4" opening up the floor
Mike Miller nice ball handler, 3pt shooter, rebounder, passer at the 2.
Possibly Melo via trade if you wanna dream big.

Let's get it popping my dudes!!!!

Not that we need to believe anything, but besides this, most amare to new york reports have been favorable. I think we need to overpay Amare to get him here. He's still a top big man and with the exception of his eye has been durable the last few years. If we can find a good point or sign lebron, he's a great option. He might even be a better option with Lebron than bosh would be. I think amare has been somewhat underrated in this whole process. He was part of a western conference finals team. Yes he had Nash but he still proved he's a superstar.

Amare was a total stud last year. He carried the Suns 2nd half of the year when everyone thought they were old and done and too small.

I would take him over Bosh Mon-Sun and twice on Friday. No brainer. Bosh has more finess but Amare asserts his will on the game. Anyone that says he's not a max player didnt watch him last year, plain and simple

Agreed. If we sign him we are in decent shape. If JJ and LBJ resign or sign elsewhere, we should turn our attention to frontloading a Rudy Gay contract, then look to deal for Parker, Collison, Felton (S&T), or someone of that nature.

If Lebron doesnt come I HOPE we dont give JJ huge money. I would LOVE to sign Mike Miller and bring Lee back. We would have the money for that.

PG Douglas 6'3
SG Miller 6'7
SF Gallo 6'10
PF Lee 6'9
C Amare 6'10
bench: Chandler, Walker, picks

Damn good squad.. a pair of all stars in the frontcourt surrounded but shooters and ball handlers with an offensive guru coach.

and you set yourself up well moving into the future with curry coming off the books next year. there's no reason to waste the money just for the sake of it, i'd much rather prefer walsh be smart, make smart moves, and when there is a moment to strike and use the leverage created by having cap space and good, valuable contracts where u haven't overpaid, then you make your move.

I would not pair lee and Amare together unless lee truely has develope a three point shot, to many times in mikes system the PF/C is left wide open beyond the arc.

Would definitely be content with that off-season. It's not the coup that everyone is hoping for but it's a pretty damn good step in the right direction.

I'll probably get nailed but whatever. The more I think of this the more I get swayed that it might be a better idea to go a different route than Lebron. To me he doesn't have that killer instinct and his complimentary pieces we are talking about don't either.

This is probably what I would do.

Trade Curry and Gallo for Carmelo (16 mil)
Sign Joe Johnson (Aim for 14 mil)
Sign Lee (Aim for 12 mil)
Trade Wilson in a deal for OK4(not sure if we can just absorb that contract)

Emeka
Lee
Anthony
Johnson
Douglas

Walker and a couple smart Vet min. Signings.

This would be a great start and i would be very happy with this. Another possibility could be signing Amare then trading Lee for Parker. We could pick up a cheap big man or overpay a big for one year and still preserve plenty of cap space and flexibility

C Cheap big
PF Amare
SF Gallo
SG Chandler
PG Parker

This could be best case scenario outside of getting lebron.

26.6 ppg on 56% shooting, 9.6 rpg, 1.1 bpg

Amare Stoudemire is a beast and would be the 2nd or 3rd best big in the entire East.
