The people in Toronta WAS SHOCKED when they heard of this hiring and said this move was a joke! They said Wilkens was brought here so that Zeke could manipulate everymove without any conflict and was actually doing Wilkens a favor by letting him coach again and in return Thomas could run the team from his GM position. They even said that the move was a ticket sales thing and since I have been watching the commericials lately with Starbury I believe it. Vince Carter said he isn't a coach who would give a boost to a team struggling because he is a passive coach and wouldn't be in a players face. The thing that stood out was they said that Zeke had to get his own puppet so he could do whatever he wanted to do as if he was coaching himself. Carter said Wilkens didn't understand the players of today , even though he was a teacher of the game. Much more was said about Wilkens, like if he coached self motivated players then it might work out if not look for the team to struggle eventually after the honeymoon wears off. Funny thing that was said was all those who brag about him being from(born)Brooklyn, they said he hasn't lived in NY for 40 yrs and that his roots are planted in Seattle now. Funny thing is He coaches his first game against Seattle. They(announcers) also said that Zeke and Dolan are playing the knicks fans as "FOOLS" and that this is a marketing move.

People in Toronto even said that Zeke needed a "FALL GUY" so when things go wrong the blame will fall on the coach instead of it being because of his basketball transactions.

Then the people in Toronto are naive. This is Isiah's show, and he is going to get the credit or the blame. He knows it, and everyone in NY knows it too.

I loved what I saw tonight but we really need a shot blocker to play when Deke is on the bench. Doleac is good but he's an offensive guy. We have plenty of those. We need another defensive bigman. I'm pretty sure Isiah will get us one. Either Swift,Camby or Gooden would be nice.

Man Herb did a great job today just playing the right players. I think herb will make a good head coach. He was the only coach who got up and yelled "Foul Him" to H20.

Man this feels great! can't wait til Friday!

guns...the guy we need is Swift.

Wilkens knows more about basketball than the Toronto fans can ever know. Toronto is a pathetic basketball city. They know HOCKEY, that's all.

Wilkens had a rough ime ther because of Vince Carter. he was hurt and he pouted. When that team was healthy they were good. remember they had a last second shot to beat Philly the year Philly went to the finals. (vince missed it!)

Playa, you always wanted to give chaney a break even though I said, he was horrible from the start. Let's see what Wilkens does the rest of this year, before we judge him.

We already know herb is better!

Think that Lenny's soft ways can help at first as we can become a offensive force. But after a while the problems that happened in Toronto will creep up.Lax D,Lazy practices,Ass Kissing players like Mo Pete & Alvin Williams, while pissing off Charles Oakly & AD.

What was lenny thinking last year?

Gony that wasn't just fans talking, that was announcers who do the games for them. Just like if Marv and Clyde gave the 411 on a coach or player it would hold some credibility.

RAps GM Glen Grundwald was very unhappy with Lenny by midseason but bit the bullet and waited till seasons end and got Kevin O Neil a former NYK assitant and defensive guru
