Prokohorov's story is pretty intriguing. He started out selling blue jeans and making like 27 rupies for every dollar he put into it, then obviously had business savvy and luck equally contribute to the making of his fortune. Fell into money? LOL I think you are talking about our boy Dolan, who has never worked and inherited all of his cash. For all intents and purposes, Dolan is a complete buffoon business-wise. (I don't know how else to describe letting Layden and Isiah stick around for so long). I like Prokorhov's aggression and hope it stokes Dolan to finally turn this team around.

From a marketing perspective... dont get me wrong its GENIOUS; i get it!)!!!; I just have a problem with this primarily because the NETS OWNER IS CLEARLY ATTEMPTING TO STEAL AWAY KNICKS FANS, and has waged a war.. and seemingly we have NO COURSE FOR DEFENSE.. Knowing that Im gonna see it pretty frequently is even more disheartening as a Knicks fan

Put a better team on the floor /filler

If you wouldn't take the Nets team over the knicks you're out of your mind. Harris, Lee, Williams, Lopez, Favors.

I like this guys style. He doesn't **** around and makes things happen. Unlike our owner who allows Isiah, Layden and the circus that has become the worst run franchise in sports.

Karma is not working in our favor. The Nets get Lebron. The Knicks are over. And if anyone thinks otherwise they are lying to themselves.

Again Lebron and Jay-Z bring a base with them. The Knicks are close to losing loyalty from fans because the team has not been loyal to them.

Great great point, but I can't see LBJ going to the Nets and playing in Newark for 2 years, I just can't see it. I agree with you though, and if the Nets make a splash and get other big namers, and the Knicks mess up big time (maxing out JJ and Amare aka FML), they could for sure steal Knicks fans.

when you own less than 10%, you are an investor, not an owner

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

if Dolan was smart, he would draft Nas and have him on an even bigger billboard opposite the Nets With Walsh and Coach. Have it say something like, sign with NY and Ether the nets

He was at the 2009 draft

Dolan is really a nobody too. If it wasn't for his dad.... Nah Mean???

I think it's funny how people crack on Jay-Z's stock in their franchise. Wait til Live Nation starts bringing entertainment to the Brooklyn Arena it won't be so funny then.

Everybody found their niche yeah Jay may brag about it too much but he is self made. The Russian owner speaks for itself. The Nets have no other way but to go up just like we do. It will be good for the area if both teams can be rising simultaneously

that would be incredible. dolan doesn't have the savvy or the balls to pull such a stunt. i think he sees the nets as beneath him and he won't waste the time/money to respond. could be a bad idea sleeping on the russian.

Yeah they look at his low percent ownership meanwhile ignoring his total personal wealth which is around half a billion. I believe he and Beyonce made like $125mil last year alone. Like I said what is Dolan without his Daddy, other than an inheritor? The wealth isn't what's going to separate these franchises in this chase any knowledgeable fan knows this, it will come down to more important matters going forward.

I just got to thinking. Phil Jackson now has a championship ring for every game the Nets won last year, and has an extra one left over. (11 as coach, 2 as a player)

Pipe down coming off 12 wins

by calling him an investor is not ignoring his personal worth. In my book, no matter how many millions you have, less than 10% makes you an investor, not an owner. I own stock and don't see myself as an owner of the company and, I seriously doubt they feel they feel that way either

Who cares about the technicalities of his stake on the franchise. It doesn't deliver them Lebron and it doesn't give us a leg up to get him either. Ownership always starts somewhere and I bet if you go back and look at the portfolio of some of these owners they started out either with investments in other companies(small ownerships) or were inheritors through closely related individuals. If he wanted to own more stake in the franchise he could as he put up a huge chunk of change for Live Nation. You do realize most NBA franchises are losing money so Jay is right in not allowing a franchise to totally milk his assets.

Were I Prokhorov, 'd' Lee would be a very tempting target to acquire.

Got Favors up and coming at the PF. DLee would be a nice "Diss" on Knicks but THe hope is Favors can bring it by Brooklyn. Nets I gather are looking out over two seasons and make a big splash when they move.

That if they don't land the big guy!

Man, IF I was still living in NY, you can BELIEVE I would find a way to deface those billboards.

It would have the same magnetic effect on my spray paint cans as clean trains-cars and walls did in the 80's.

I need to visit Hollis to see if I can track G-Wiz down
