I'm sorry, but picking up CDR and Meggete seems a bit redundant to me. I assume that you will not be starting them in the same lineup. I also assume that Roberts wants to be a starter and will make that known at some point or another.

If you are serious about letting Jennings run the show, having both of these guys playing with him is not the answer. Neither one can shoot a 3, for every assist they get they turn the ball over, and they are not exactly defensive lions on the court. Add to this that they are both at their best when they are controlling the ball.

The Bucks now have Redd and his $18M expiring, Delfino, Meggete, and Roberts- all around the same size, on their roster.

Both CDR and Maggette are slashers that can get to the line or draw and dish. These type of players are needed. Milwaukee is on the move.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I disagree. They got a 20-5-3 51% 6-7 225 F who can play 3-4 and a 6-7 210 23 YO G who can handle score and who should be able to be a good defender in the system they play for literally nothing. Take a strong look at their roster--They only have 8 guys under contract as of now with Salmons opting out. I think with the strong PG and C combo with a good team defense in place--this is not only a strong hedge but good depth moves in which they gave up nothing.

Briggs- the D is as good who they put out there and whether the players buy into the defensive system. I see these guys as being the same player (pretty much), but for the age difference, and neither has been known to show a serious concern for playing defense. Except for certain circumstances, I don't think you would not want Meggete and Roberts to be playing together for long stretches.

Maybe they will turn their games around on the defensive end and be more team oriented on offense, but would you expect them to be playing together for extended periods during a game, or will Roberts play as a backup to Meggete?

The offensive issue revolves around the need to have the ball, and the fact that you are giving Jennings the keys to the car while having him play with two new guys who really want to drive.
Time will tell. I don't think that Skiles will allow the team to devolve in the Midwest version of GS, but it will be interesting to see how he uses these guys.

Bucks got CDR. O my my my. Their bench is going to be a problem. Bucks addressing their wing scoring issues BEFORE the draft. Im pretty sure they are looking to draft a big(C/PF). The question is who? Whiteside/Orton/Aldrich

Oh and CDR is a good scorer off the bench which is exactly what the Bucks needed.

Great trade for Milwaukee - highly unlikely you'll find a player as talented as Chris Douglas-Roberts in the 2nd Round.

BUCKS.com: Henry, Whiteside and Stephenson workout
Pretty good day on paper for the Bucks, with guards Xavier Henry and Lance Stephenson joining big men Hassan Whiteside and Ryan Richards at the Cousins Center. As many recent mocks suggest, Billy McKinney doesn't expect Henry to be available at #15 (Chad Ford disagrees), but he sounded pretty impressed with the 19-year-old's defensive showing on Monday. There was less enthusiasm for Whiteside:

"There’s been some speculation that he’ll go ahead of us. I can’t see that. We’ll look at him but I would say, right now, this is just my opinion, I’d say that might be a stretch for us to take him at 15."
McKinney doesn't have much incentive to be so forthright with the media--he similarly suggested Larry Sanders was a stretch at 15--but I'd also be surprised if he was flat-out lying. I guess we'll know for sure in a couple days. Unfortunately no big names in today's workout, with possible 2nd round target Sherron Collins the most interesting prospect. The Bucks do expect to have one more day of last-minute workouts on Wednesday.

...................................................

Woelfel: No Seraphin visit, Maggette deal possible
Gery Woelfel reported over the weekend that injured French big Kevin Seraphin would fly to Milwaukee for a visit, but it never materialized.

Seraphin had flown from Toronto to Chicago and was then going to Milwaukee. When he was informed the Bucks felt it wasn't necessary to meet with him, Seraphin took a flight to Atlanta and met with Hawks officials.

Perhaps more interestingly, Woelfel throws out a rumor about the Bucks offering the Warriors Dan Gadzuric and Charlie Bell to take on the three years and $31 million owed to Corey Maggette. The 30-year-old Maggette has been a prolific and efficient scorer for years, though he's only been a part-time starter (even playing a fair bit of PF) for Don Nelson's circus show in Oakland the past two years. Considering he's the same age as John Salmons and isn't a clear upgrade, I'd much rather take my chances re-signing Salmons for less than take on Maggette's rather generous contract. Afterall, he'll presumably still be available later in the summer.

.....................................

When listing the players who participated in the day’s pre-draft workout session, Whiteside’s name slipped the mind of McKinney until being reminded by a reporter.

The guy McKinney seemed to be talking in circles and didnt mention Whiteside until asked. Hassan Whiteside catching alleys from Jennings would be SSSSSSWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEETTTTTT.

salmons was huge for the bucks in the postseason. there is no telling how mags will fit in. they have skiles so that could be a plus or a minus depending on mags attitude.

exactly how much is salmons asking for them to make this deal? nuts.

Some dont seem to understand that. The Bucks lacked scoring last season. They would literally go on huge scoring droughts. Maggette is being brought in to put up points and defend which is what he is good at.

it's not how much he was asking but rather he opted out and has plenty of other possibilities.
