The thing is, Lebron's friends are not just your ordinary guys. They have helped him make good choices in his life. Every thing from the way he speaks to what he wears in interviews are decisions made by his friends. They are also top minded people. This Lebron decision is better than people think. It is bigger than just basketball.

If more players and people had friends like Lebron's friends they would be more successful in their careers.

While I don't think their intentions are bad, they're opportunists. They all realized LBJ was their meal ticket and built their lives around LBJ. That's fine and all, because they can build rather successful careers around him, but at the end of the day LeBron makes the call. They'll certainly influence LeBron, but influence is all it is. I'm sure the advice Warren Buffet gives LeBron is to make up his mind based upon what's best for HIM

he knows where he is going. The rest is a marketing game.

When you take a strong look at the Knicks situation

A. You have very low stability with what is going to be an outgoing GM and maybe the worst owner in pro sports

B A history of losing over a decade

C A thin roster that has three SF and one combo guard signed--our pick is in Utah

D A coach who is not defensive minded although all of the teams who get to the finals on a yearly basis are just that

you look at the bulls you have much the same thing in the last 12 years. their most recent coach was fired after their GM physically shoved him around after an argument over playing time for Noah. they have some good young pieces, but they've not made it out of the first round of the playoffs. their owner is known to be a penny-pincher who drove off jordan, pippen and phil jackson after 98.

the bulls have a better team in place than the knicks, but i think that argument changes if the knicks can get bosh. i haven't heard any indication as to where bosh is going - except he's said he doesn't want to go to texas and he gave that top five list. the bulls don't have enough cap room to sign him outright - getting him is contingent on the raptors agreeing to make a deal. will they take loul deng for him? can't the knicks make a better offer with david lee + wilson chandler? it's arguable that deng is much better than chandler alone. david lee is a young, easily marketable player who has made an all-star team.

i think the knicks have the best chance of getting bosh and that greatly improves their chances of getting lebron. we'll see, of course.

You've got to be the most negative Knicks fan I've ever seen, Briggs. I feel even if we do get LeBron, you'd bitch about missed draft picks or our logjam at SF.

Not at all. I'm very objective and that doesn't resonate well at times.

What you call "objective" is what I call reactionary and annoying. Your "objectiveness" stems from the fact that you change your mind every day on any subject and that is usually a direct reaction to a rumor you have read. Begging LeBron not to come here, bashing Donnie for his plan, then saying you're confident LeBron is coming and now going back to bashing Donnie because of a Yahoo report shows your destructiveness. It's not healthy. That's what doesn't resonate well.

I personally think that while WWW has influence, it is of late being greatly overblown by the media who is now painting him as someone who controls the entire landscape of basketball from college to the pros, by pulling strings behind the scenes, painting him as this mythic character who basically silently runs everything

But this guy with all this power can only get TT 2 mil a year from the Bulls. Yea. This guy who basically has all this power and controls where LeBron is going to wind up, is shopping his client out there who would presumably have influence in the LeBron sweeptstakes, and he can only get him peanuts from Chicago to coach relative to other coaching deals

Ive heard reports from people in the LeBron camp that WWW is not really on the LeBron "team", and id believe them. This isn't some kid that hes scooping off a HS team and delivering to Calipari. This is a decision that reaches far above and beyond the power of someone like WWW. It handles potentially hundreds of millions of dollars and the landscape of the league as we know it

With that said, LeBron may wind up in Chicago, but i doubt its because of WWW. There are only 3-4 real viable options, and thats one of them.

Lee AND Chandler for Bosh? Hmm, that's pretty steep. We lose an important trade asset in our attempt to turn Eddy's deal into a solid shot-blocking big. I would rather sign Bosh outright (we will convince him it's in his interest to leave the sixth year on the table because we will resign him and LBJ to six year deals after we win our first chip in 2012). Then we can use Curry and Chandler to get the big we need. I still don't see how trading for Parker will work for us. He's a bit run down (even at 28, he's more like 32 with his frenetic style and oft-injured status) and I don't think he is worth losing out on a shot-blocker like OK4.

I find it funny how BRIGGS cannot wait and is the first one to post something negative about LeBron James coming to the Knicks. LOL How come you don't post about how Jay Z won't recruit King James to New Jersey or how there is no connection to Tom Thibodeau? Your agenda on this site is a joke.

Exactly. And later this week, there will be another "inside source" saying that LeBron James is a lock to resign with Cleveland. Fact is, King James WILL visit New York on July 1st. We need to show him why this is a better situation then Cleveland and Chicago. Until then, nothing you read really matters. There are no "inside sources". Sure, King James might like the idea of playing with Derrick Rose. But what he feels right now, will not be the same come July.

Serg,

Briggy offers his insight which you don't have to agree with. He is polite and professional.

He has bought a block of tickets and actually took people to the game. Free.

He has shared stock picks, which at our own risk you can participate in. Some have made a good rate of return.

So if Briggy wants to post some emotional threads that are on occasion redundant what harm is it?

You don't let a Dlee post go buy which you exibit no self control yourself to demonstrate your distaste for his lack of defense ability despite his relative inexpensive salary and he is our only allstar in 7 years.

We let playa go off theories, Sebby on his "ass" rants, watched Allanfan'd Fishmike grow up to by a house and be a good dad, Dido got abducted by aliens, we think Bonnie married his dogs, LI Fan will one day win an oscar or get run over by his own car, we'll go to Marvs retirement party (Soon), DJ will come back to the flock from his euro envy, TMS will get a steady girl, Bitty will one day admit she is not always right (even though she usually is), and my obnoxious self also gets a few free passes all cuz we just like hanging out and shooting the shyt. Nobody is perfect Sergio so argue the opinion but its all good around here. Bottom line we root for the team who spends the most money $ for $ in the history of mankind and have no basis to claim any superior knowledge.

Knicks suck. UK does not.

One day we will win a chip and they will let Isles out of the box and Hardcore can run down the street in full wonderment that we will have won!!!!!!!

Until then, we ignore from time to time.

just to piggyback nalod's point - briggs filled up a section at the garden for this forum and didn't ask for a dime in return. he can say what he wants, choose to agree with it or not, but the guy is obviously a huge knicks fan and he's a linchpin of this forum.
