I also heard from someone who is close with someone in the Knicks organization that Walsh was goin after Parker hard... lets see

Tony Parker
McGrady (vets min)
LeBron
Gallo
Bosh

Thats insane lineup

regardless of what group of players we put out there- we have to wait before pronouncing this or that group potentially great. The fact is, we said that with just about every deal Isiah made - Marbury, Curry, Zach, Crawford.

No doubt that would be a really good group of players to put out there- but still, there is a question of MDA making the parts work and Walsh finding cheap filler- something that I'm not sure Walsh & MDA have proven to be able to do.

to get a player like Parker it's going to take more than just Curry's expiring guys.

Any team with LeBron on it at this point is going to win close to or around 50 games even if the supporting cast is absolute garbage. No coach in the league can mess that up. This isn't like any move Isiah ever made, this is the best player in the world and he improved the Cavs by 20+ games as an 18 year old kid off the bat, now hes a man.

Of course depending on what he is surrounded with will dictate how much better than that we could be and how high the ceiling is, but a team led by LeBron at this point has a 45-50 win floor, I don't care if im playing the role of his sidekick

The guy is 28 years old and still in his prime.

Sure, he's had some injuries that's caused him to miss some time but that was this past season. He did come back and perform in the playoffs. In 08-9 he played in 72 of 82 games. That's pretty damn good for an "injury prone" guy if you ask me.

BTW, Tony Parker's career FG% is 49% and he's shot 50% and over 3 times. Just because he's not a good 3 pointer shooter doesn't mean he "has no jumper". His mid-range game is pretty good and driving ability uncanny.

This guy is the best we can get with Curry's contract and if Donnie can pull it off then he is the man.

absolutely agree with you bro. i seriously do not get the hate on tony parker.

dude gets owned by his backup, george hill. nuff said.

/end threak

yeah those 13pts and less than 1 assist a game from hill really got them far in the playoffs

depending on the deal i would love to have tony parker on the team. guy's a major competitor and it didn't seem like his injuries this year had any chronic component to them.

TD is going to be a very good player for the Knicks next season. Perfect player to play with Lebron. TD will guard the other team's point guard and play that combo guard role perfectly with Lebron (assuming we get him).

If we make no trades but are able to sign Lebron & Bosh our staring 5 would very solid.
During the season when Curry's contract becomes more valuable we could trade him for a defensive shot blocking center (assuming we don't get one with our 2nd round picks)

Pg: Lebron
Sg: TD
Sm: Gallo
Pf: Chandler
C: Bosh

6th man: Walker

I think that line-up will work well. This casts Lebron into the Magic Johnson mode, but Gallo-Chandler-Bosh is nowhere close to teh frontline of the showtime Lakers. Between the two line-ups the one with Parker @ PG is better for win now, the other one may be better overall.

You don't build the showtime Lakers from what the Knicks had in a year. When the playoffs between the Spurs and the Suns was on the commentator speculated about Parker being on the block. And TD would be what they would be after as well as shedding Parkers contract. I think this trade is doable...the Knicks might even ask for a pick...is it in the long term best interests of the Knicks...no. But this may happen /methinks. (Parker+pick for Curry,Chandler and TD) Parker played pro ball overseas and has a lot of miles on him.

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

Someone has to explain to me how Parker fits into our pick and roll offense. I realize he's a very good player, but he's more of a penetrator and we need someone than can also knock down the 3.

If Wilson Chandler is gonna get traded I would hope the Knicks can atleast get a center out of the deal. I would rather trade Wilson for a draft position where the Knicks would be able to snag Whiteside. Anyone who is watching the finals now know that height is something you can't teach and is a must if the team is to make any kind of championship run. If there are FAs that are coming would love to see Whiteside holding down the middle.

Spurs run a ton of pick and rolls.

I'm totally on board with a Tony Parker acquisition, assuming Gallo isn't included. George Hill is a quality player that deserves a chance and the Spurs are an older team that needs an injection of youth to maintain relevancy.

Parker has been playing pro ball since he was just a lad, so in his case the yrs have caught up with him. Injuries are as common for him as colds are in the winter. McGrady ditto ! SOT =SAME OLD THING

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

a fossil at 28, i don't think so. and all of these guys have been playing "pro ball" since they were young, just because he got paid for it across seas doesn't make it much different than playing aau or college ball here.

Why must we be subjected to taking on someone else's aging star, why can't we grow our own ?

Was 2010 ever about building through the draft? Knicks are trying to get in the playoffs next year...no time for waiting for rookies to blossom

I don't like Parker or his game for this offense/team, I'd rather go after a center with the Curry's expiring contract and sign Gay(less then the Max) as the 2 guard, and one other Max player. Let's save space to be flexible.
