Both. He's between 103rd and 102nd. I know the block. I wouldn't be surprise if they didn't smoke one with him before they brought him in.

Clearly medicinal. Didn't he just have an operation?

On a serious note- For those of you who see Chandler as a potential trading chip, his value has just taken a hit.

he doesnt need to if he gets arrested with it

I know it was in his car but you got to explain to be how he will be suspended for it. Suspension is testing positive. Not arrests of possession because it doesn't represent a conviction. That why Sheed wasn't. That's why the Big Chief wasn't.

ahhh... ok. Hope your right. I feel like someone just got popped for just the possesion. Maybe NFL?

I don't think getting pulled over and arrested for drugs is no big deal. I'm, sure the Knicks are really mad at him right now and he probably dropped his trade value. Now we have an oft injured person who has been arrested for drug possession.

Its not a big deal, but his contract makes it one. They don't drug test in the off season. But Chandler will be for a few years now this happend.

Smoking weed is not exactly a healthy activity. Knicks don't own Wilson or his mind, but they own his body and union agrees they don't want weed in it. HE signed that contract and agrees to conditions. He is a consenting adult.

Stern doesn't play around when someone or something compromises the image of his league.

I call 3-5 game suspension.

I bet you no games. He got a citation. Not even arrest. Means no weight on possession.

Good point but I don't see this getting swept under the rug. If anything, he'll get fined by the league or by DW. Hope you're right about not missing any games - like I said, Stern is anal-retentive about the league's image.

In classic fashion we didnt trade him last year before the draft when his perceived value was sky high. Now with the injuries and weed issue his value is likely at an all time low.

By the way I could less if he was caught doing lines of coke. As long as he isnt doing it during the season.

This is a minor story unless Chandler gets convicted or pleas to DWI. Otherwise, its possession which is I think a $10 ticket or so in NYC. As to his trade value, this won't have much impact. It's not like he had a pound of kind bud in his trunk. He had a "small amount" which means probably a joint or an eighth or something. Most teams will overlook this ridiculously minor infraction of the rules of conduct to have a player like Wilson who still has some upside and plays hard every night, especially on perimeter D.

As to starting the season suspended, that's a distinct possibility, since Stern is a hard ass about following rules, as he should be. Wilson is also a role model, and this doesn't burnish his reputation in that regard. But he isn't Gilbert Arenas: He will learn a lesson from this and keep his off-season weed smoking under wraps and out of the car from now on.

Now we need to come up with a new nickname for him. How's Wilson "Rastaman" Chandler? Or maybe the "Buffalo Soldier"?

Some needed perspective here. Naw, its not meaningless --- he's a professional athlete who should be held to a higher standard. Its poor decision. Especially considering that he was in a vehicle while smoking.

But I know some are itching to go overboard and use this incident as some sort of statement on his character. You know, the high horse bastards who have never made a mistake in their life. Duke is a freshly turned 23 and it was weed. Fall back.

Jeez, I know in my heart you want someone to go overboard but I just can't help you here!
Its no big deal. Wilson's been great and improved every year.

Didn't washington trade caron butler for the pot smoker josh howard, I don't see how his value drops.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

More details from the News

http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/05/19/2010-05-19_ny_knicks_forward_wilson_chandler_arrested_for_marijuana_possession_in_queens.html

Knicks forward Wilson Chandler was busted in Queens last night with a joint and five bags of pot, police sources Wednesday.

The tattooed-covered rising star was pulled over in his 2010 Mercedes-Benz was on 94th Ave. and 213th St. at 11:30 p.m. for driving with his headlights off.

"When they approached the vehicle, they smelled...and observed smoke," a source said of the arresting officers.

They found the pot in the trunk, sources said.

Chandler, who had a 22-year-old passenger, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana. He was given a desk appearance ticket.

Word of Chandler's arrest stunned and angered his grandmother, 76-year-old Olivia Chandler of Benton Harbor, Mich.

"I don't know about pot in his car, I ain't heard nothing from him yet," she told The Daily News. "I didn't raise him to smoke pot."

Asked about Chandler's recent state of mind, the grandma said "he just had surgery."

The 6-foot-8-inch forward missed the final month of play after suffering a groin strain and was scheduled to undergo sports hernia surgery.

Chandler's uncle said he too was shocked by the arrest.

"Ah goodness, I didn't think he messed with that stuff," said Al Chandler, 50, of Temple Hills, Md. "He's a good guy. Obviously he must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Chandler, who was drafted by the Knicks in 2007, played in 65 games last season and averaged 15 points.

My take: I live in a glass house so I ain't throwing no stones. I laughed when I read he was driving with his headlights off: sounds like some stoner ish right there!

I'm also surprised you don't get any kind of DWI charge in that kind of situation, or do you? (I don't really drive.)

You gotta love the quote from his grandma. I bet Wilson ain't "the Mayor" in her house. Definitely a big mistake and I bet this puts the Fear of God... or the Fear of Grams in the youngblood.

Could be a sobering wake-up call for Ill Will and be a net positive for the team. He might come into the next season with the right kind of fire, pun certainly intended.

The only person this matters to is Dolan--and while he is no saint himself--they are desperately trying to promote a new Knicks generation--a changing of the guard so to speak and this is not good PR.

Remember they were mad at nate for a simple traffic violation. This is possession.

Well, Nate also tweeted during the stop.
