rivers, brown, woodson, spoelstra, mcmillan, and hollins.

2 of them were just fired.

so currently, only 4 non-white head coaches in a primarily non-white basketball league.

to use a misterearlism..."just sayin'"...

I think we need to fire all white coaches and force all white owners out of the league and just hire random black strangers off the street to fill the positions.

Then maybe we can overcome this overly racist element of just hiring white guys to do the job.

Yes, that's what we need to do.

We also need to give all black players the max straight out of college. Not doing so is clearly racist. I also think the nba is racist for not allowing 12 year olds into the league. Clearly the age limit is designed to hold back the black race.

The league is only about 85% black and that is very racist towards black people. The percentage is too low. It needs to be like 95% or more and all white people should play for free.

(yeah, i'm really tired of these kinds of arguments that the nba is racist towards black folks. where you guys come up with this is well beyond any logic i know of and it's really unintelligent and unhelpful in any way.)

Usually it is the beginning of the end for the show.
We all want coaches, players, and everybody connected to bbal to be a better professionals and better people.
How this people look is completely irrelevant.
If we will have decent coaches who happen to be humanoids from Alfa Centaurs I would gladly accept it.

I want the best man for the job. If that means 10 people you hire are all white then so be it. If they are the best 10 men you can find then that's what you go with. Equal opportunity has taken a tone of epic stupidity....instead of just allowing all the chance to succeed we now make sure a certain percentage of all races "succeed" meaning we will deny a more capable person a job just to have that token ethnic diversity in the work place.

It's pathetic.

So do you think D'Antoni blocking more non-white coaches entering NBA?
May be you are right... But wait... he is not white, he is Italian!!!
Whites are those anglosaxons from South who used to be slave masters. Right?

He is not italian, he is from West Virginia. He learned to speak italian in ital.

You know I gonna spin wit it

I think you have a misunderstanding of affirmative action. Affirmative action implies a socioeconomic interviewing adjustment. Employers are allowed to select whoever is best suited for the job. Some programs offer incentives to hire minorities, true, but then again maybe minor concessions should be rendered considering the historic disadvantage present.

I'm a white male at the beginning of my career. You've been in the workforce for a while and are impacted less by affirmative action than me. Yet I'm having difficulty understanding your tone.

You are probably correct and I don't have a proper grasp of it. I'm reactionary and unconcerned with "stepping on toes". I just speak my mind.

Yet, I worked in NYC for 10 years and fully understand what I saw unfold before me. I have seen employers forced to hire "a mix" of backgrounds and outright having to let go individuals who were far better suited to do their jobs in order to meet the new "rules" of employment.

These comments may sound racist but they aren't meant to be. I have and always will firmly believe in "Best Man For The Job" regardless of background. I never did believe in the "Token Black Guy in 80s SitComs" type crap. You employ who is best fitted to run your business. Yet, we don't. It's all about being PC which is pathetic.

Now, if I am offending anyone, sorry but so be it. I didn't start the topic. Go hunt down the craptor fan who did and leave me be.
