My pick would be Chicago. Their infrastructure is the best. Even though the Heat haev Wade--Chicago has a player who is just about the same level yet also have good bigs wings and guards already in place

If I were LeBron James, I'd come to New York. I have the opportunity at a legacy that eclipes anything that's ever been done in basketball history. It's too easy.

You could also argue that OKC be on this list, they have 16mm+ in capspace.

OKC doesn't actually have max cap space if you count cap holds. And he and Durant sharing the ball, along with Westbrook, wouldn't be good. They need a big guy in OKC - they already have their version of Bron.

hey im just going along with the idea of the thread, which place gives him the best chance to win. i think okc does.

nyk after thinking about it--okl is really a no brainer answer in fact its not close. oklahoma put the lakers on their heels without LBJ in the playoffs and won over 50 games--they have multiple everything and two stars in place. literally you would have the 1 and 2 best players in the league and a burgeoning all aaastar in westbrook.

- Billionaire owner willing to spend
- Nets have never won a championship
- Create his own legacy
- Team moving to Brooklyn
- Young assets and a lottery pick that can be moved for help RIGHT NOW
- Can hand pick his own coach
- Can hand pick the entire team really. The only untouchable player on the Nets right now is Lopez.

- worst team in the league
- worst arena in the league
- no fan base and no matter what that team is 2nd in the city. Just ask the Mets how that feels
- best player (Harris) is always hurt
- next best player (Lopez) is a turtle
- no shooters to spread the floor
- no coach
- two years of playing in an empty gym while nobody cares about what you do. Devils win titles and still nobody cares

Of course your not Lebron so its doesnt matter what you think

LOL

- The worse team usually gets a top 3 draft pick. I suggest you go back and see what kind of players were traded for top 3 picks
- They will play in NEW Arena in Newark for 2 yrs then play in a Brand NEW Arena in Brooklyn
- Lebron has his own fanbase
- Harris is as good as gone. The guy is the 2nd coming of Jamal Crawford.
- Lopez is a decent Center. Just looking around the league Lopez is already in the top 5 center
- This is irrelevant because they have a bunch of guys on rookie deals that can easily be moved. If they wanted to they could trade Harris for Arenas.
- Once again they would acquire the coach Lebron likes. Whether that be Tom Thibodeau or Lebron James uncle.
- If Lebron plays there people will come. This is a non-issue especially with the proximity to the Newark Pennstation.

Im not saying LEbron is a lock to play for the Nets. Im just saying it is a possibility. Jay-Z has been VERY quiet since the comments he made in 2008 which many thought was borderline tampering. When I see a grown man with a son jocking a 40 yr man who isnt related to him I have to wonder.

i absolutely agree with you briggs. i think without lebron okc wins a championship or two (if they keep durant and westbrook) but if they get lebron, then they will win the next 10 championships, without a doubt in my mind. i know everyone is all over durant, but if you ask me, the MVP of that team is westbrook, he makes them go, he dictates the pace and he gets guys easy shots. okc is going to be a force for a looooong time.

A) OKC doesn't have max cap room.
B) He doesn't fit with Durant and Westbrook.

let's try to keep it in the realm of the possible here?

I mean, why not just send Bron to the Lakers or Phoenix for the MLE. those are great situations for the guy.

They have roughly 17mm in cap space.

That would be a team of

C Ibaka Kristic Mullens
PF Durant Collison
SF Green Selefeshoba
SG James Harden
PG Westbrook Maynor

They already have 13 roster spots so no holds and they could trade their 1s for future 1's

That team would kill all comers

Yeah thats a nice team but all you would be doing is reducing Durants star and Westbrooks. You think they would be happy to play with LeBron. I personally think they would despise him for coming to play with them. Ain't nothing but a ego thing. First thing Westbrook is gonna think is James is going to reduce his stats and possible future max deal.

If he goes to Chicago I can't but imagine Rose thinking the same way especially when he needs the ball in his hand much the same way LeBron does.

I'm going to put all bias aside but the right place for LeBron is NY big city without a Legacy in the basketball world not for some 40 years. The Knicks as an organization do not hesitate to exceed the cap hell they pretty much shattered it on many occasions. LeBron would know that resigning good players would be of no object with the Knicks. A team can be built for the long haul there isn't any fooling around with the Knicks. For example if Bosh comes at max and Lebron the Knicks have room for that, if Gallo turn out to be a max player they will max him without hesitation, if Chandler turns out to be a max type player they would max him too. Chicago worry's about cap, Lakers still worry about cap, knicks have never been known to worry about cap. If Lebron is in it for the long haul than the Knicks is the best landing spot for him.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Knicks and will die a Knick fan - but I am surprised they even got a single vote in this poll.

People are reading too much into this legacy stuff - Lebron is about money and fame and possibly winning a championship. The poll is about winning now and I don't see NY as the place where he can step right in make a run.

If he comes here it will take a few years before a championship materializes, although getting 2 all stars would certainly speed up the process.

Personally, I think the Knicks should get Lebron and go after Melo as his Pippen. Maybe get Bosh if you can but I am not a fan (admittedly now knowing much about him).

If I'm Lebron, I won't go to Miami because of Wade. It will forever be his team and he's got a ring and I don't

I wouldn't go to Chicago either. Jordan presence will be too heavy there, where is my gain? I only see drawbacks.

I would have added the Cleveland choice. That is the only choice to be made, Cleveland or NY. Other teams have no business being here.

Don't sleep on Jersey. Nets still have a billionaire owner, Jay-Z... and now Queen Latifah & Common!

Maybe instead of MJ v2.0 King James is really Dr. J v2.0.

Chicago is compelling but in NY he's not stuck with guys that may not fit. In NY he can get a custom fit team put around him. It's a very rare opportunity for a great player. He can sit down with DW n MDA and seriously talk about how they'll build the rest of this team. He can't do that anywhere else.

Hopefully if he comes to NY he gets to choose his coach. That is supposed to be another attraction for him to go to Chicago.

...I would purposely not choose the Knicks so that the forums I've been reading can light up with "told you so" and "knicks suck lol" cause that would really make my day!

And when I sign with CLE or MIA or PHO or CHI or anyone not the Knicks my press conference will be a one liner "Well, the Knicks can sign Feshenko to the max!"

And then I will LOL all over the internet, I will give The Bluest 10M dollars for being so cool, and I will hire BRIGGS as an advanced scout!

Of all the Head coaches available who has the best record and reputation? Who else would Lebron choose? Why wouldn't he give MDA a chance to see how he does before assuming it wouldn't work?

Rose and Wade would not compliment lebron. And their teams don't have floor spacers. The idea is to surround lebron with players that can't be left alone, so if lebron is doubled, the opposing team gets torched. Not great fitS. More of an nba2k10 team.
NYC (with bosh) makes the most sense. The perfect team cam be built around him, piece by piece. Our current pieces fit perfectly too. Douglas is a great shooter and defender and clutch to boot. Gallo spaces the floor defends hard and can carry the team at times. Wilson is solid. If we get bosh we will have a player that can carry us and doesn't get in the way of lebron's game- he compliments it. We will trade curry for a good post defender if not over the summer, then at the deadline. This team can easily carry us to the deadline with a winning record until we are able to complete the masterpiece.

Good Post. This is exactly what MDA was talking about too when you have a guy that can create at will and has great passing ability and is a scoring threat, then you can play his style and it all works. Since Bosh, Gallo, Chan & TD can all shoot, it makes it tough on any team to be able to send help on Lebron. Plus all of those guys can also create to a certain degree, unlike Mo, Verajao and Parker. As you say the only thing missing is a Banger/Shotblocker type. Garbage Men should be available this summer so i'm sure we'll be able to address that need.
