OKC doesn't actually have max cap space if you count cap holds. And he and Durant sharing the ball, along with Westbrook, wouldn't be good. They need a big guy in OKC - they already have their version of Bron.
hey im just going along with the idea of the thread, which place gives him the best chance to win. i think okc does.
nyk after thinking about it--okl is really a no brainer answer in fact its not close. oklahoma put the lakers on their heels without LBJ in the playoffs and won over 50 games--they have multiple everything and two stars in place. literally you would have the 1 and 2 best players in the league and a burgeoning all aaastar in westbrook.
A) OKC doesn't have max cap room.
B) He doesn't fit with Durant and Westbrook.
let's try to keep it in the realm of the possible here?
I mean, why not just send Bron to the Lakers or Phoenix for the MLE. those are great situations for the guy.
They have roughly 17mm in cap space.
That would be a team of
C Ibaka Kristic Mullens
PF Durant Collison
SF Green Selefeshoba
SG James Harden
PG Westbrook Maynor
They already have 13 roster spots so no holds and they could trade their 1s for future 1's
That team would kill all comers
Yeah thats a nice team but all you would be doing is reducing Durants star and Westbrooks. You think they would be happy to play with LeBron. I personally think they would despise him for coming to play with them. Ain't nothing but a ego thing. First thing Westbrook is gonna think is James is going to reduce his stats and possible future max deal.
If he goes to Chicago I can't but imagine Rose thinking the same way especially when he needs the ball in his hand much the same way LeBron does.
I'm going to put all bias aside but the right place for LeBron is NY big city without a Legacy in the basketball world not for some 40 years. The Knicks as an organization do not hesitate to exceed the cap hell they pretty much shattered it on many occasions. LeBron would know that resigning good players would be of no object with the Knicks. A team can be built for the long haul there isn't any fooling around with the Knicks. For example if Bosh comes at max and Lebron the Knicks have room for that, if Gallo turn out to be a max player they will max him without hesitation, if Chandler turns out to be a max type player they would max him too. Chicago worry's about cap, Lakers still worry about cap, knicks have never been known to worry about cap. If Lebron is in it for the long haul than the Knicks is the best landing spot for him.
