Wow! Joe had a fit when the crowd booed him. In NY that was only a warm up. Too bad he didn't turn thar vitrol into energy and score a few more baskets. Maybe he'd still be playing this week.

I think Chris Weber said it best. Joe Johnson has difficulty creating his own shots. If you watched the games you would see that he would settle for jumpers. His creativity with the ball is lacking. With Jump shooter sometime a a hand in the face is all you need and in the playoffs the intensity goes up and he couldn't handle that intensity. I say Pass on Johnson don't even bother to bring him in not worth the money even if LeBron wants him. Chandler is better IMHO he is more versatile better defensively and more explosive next year Chandler gives you 18-20 points per game.

Let's not discount our all buddy Jamal Crawford down there. He is all one on one every play. He had a nice season, but dribbling the ball half the clock and shooting fallaway jumpers doesn't really build the whole "team" aspect.

Again anyone that ever calls him elite please remember he sucks in half the games he plays and lets all be happy he isn't here.

Orlando
5-15
6-13
7-18
1-11

Bucks
8-16
8-17
4-18
6-12
5-13
2-10
4-11

Joe Johnson signing would be a disaster we need to say away from guys like that especially after what he said about the fans. Typical loser remark. The half assed it against the Bucks and sleep walked into the offseason.

Joe Johnson has great handle. His issue is he moves like Ron Artest.

He's not a great athlete and he's a big dude. He's going to get slower faster than other guys and he wasnt fast to start with. That means he will be a player who will rely more and more on his jumpshot. I think the guy wore down. Someone was right above--he might be a good 3 or 4th guy on a Dallas Boston etc.. While he put up good numbers really he's not a number 2 guy--he's a piece that will fit in nicely in the right situation. We are a team that need size upfront speed+athletic ability[who can shoot drive and dish] on the wing and a star player to bring it all together

What haters? Nobody thought he was worth max unless he was signing with a better guy like LeBron or something.

I would still take Johnson, but not at that figure. $11 million is a more reasonable offer.

there's at least a couple guys on this forum who have already said they wouldn't mind ending up with JJ on a max deal this summer if we failed to land Lebron or Wade, yet there's no YES votes... i agree with Pharzeone, it's a little strange how quickly opinions turn after a playoff run of games... sorta like how Jerome Big Turd James was a "legit 7 footer that was worth the full MLE" all of a sudden after he had a few good games in the Sonics playoff run.

Joe Johnson for $12.5M-$13M would be ideal.

Chris Bosh $16.8M
Johnson $13.0M
Drew Gooden/Udonis Haslem/Jermaine O'Neal $4.5M

I think that is too much.

Maybe 3 years, team option on year three, starting at $9mm.

And this isn't the first year he's disappeared in the play offs- he did so last year until he had one break out game.

I thought we were only talkin about JJ as a fallback if Lebron says no thanks. JJ isn't anyones top option but even less so at Max money. Heck I thought the consensus was only Bron, Wade n Bosh were Max guys. Maybe Amare too but that's about it.

The chances are greater that JJ will be available even more so now with this performance and his comments. DW is no fool he'll likely tell JJ's agent that he could be the right player only at a certain price. His options will be fewer now after all this.

Interesting how you acknowledge a player has a problem and shows major red Flags yet you'll still clamor for them. Dude is playing like an Old Man. He 2 series to show what he has Top/Premium value in this league and he floundered big time.

I have stated my view numerous times on Joe Johnson already. If we hadnt trade our future picks I would have preferred tanking and doing a natural rebuild. Since we traded the picks there is no incentive to be bottom feeders for the next 2 yrs. Therefore Im all aboard for any guys that will at least get us to the playoffs for the next 2 yrs.

I don't think he's worth even that much. If he is all we get then we still won't even make the playoffs. (Would probably see Harrington walk and Johnson brought in and cap space preserved).

Yet if we can pair him with someone then maybe it'd be just fine at 5/80. Absolutely no more.

Now, as to Chandler, Gallo, Lee, Harrington, Walker, (Joe), (Amare), (Bosh), (LBJ).... well, yeah, we're going to be making decisions. I don't even see how you bring back Lee, Chandler, Gallo, Harrington, Walker anyway. We've already got a log jam.

And I'm still saying it's Chandler that's the odd man out in a trade.

Barkley said the same thing last night. Who turns down $15-16mil/yr? As I said his situation this summer will come down to not accepting anything less than 5yrs/$80mil or 6yrs/$100mil and the team that offers him this, it only will take one or comes the closest is the team that will sign him. What I believe he will do is go to ATL and revisit the extension talk and if nothing comes of it this means his agent has located a team stupid enough to overpay him which will reap a monumental blunder of epic proportions.

Wow. So you want to compound the first mistake (trading picks) with a second (signing a failure)?

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

$65M, 5 years (starting salary of about $11M). Take it or leave Joe.

No need for him. Would rather keep focused on building frontline and going after LBJ. If No LBJ then I will fill my roster with the best 1 year rentals that I can and go after carmelo. Joe Joihnson should not be a Knick --i mean what is the difference between 13 and 15--it still takes up too much cap space. I just pass.

You asked if people would be happy. You should have asked how people would feel and given them options.

Signing Johnson to a ridiculous deal would make me happy but it also wouldn't make me want to slit my wrists.

5 years @ $60 million would be the most I'd be willing to do. $80 million is outrageous.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
Would you be happy if the Knicks signed Joe Johnson to a 5 years 80mm $ deal
